Since in my thread Dirty little secrets revealed a lot of the pros laughed at me now I'm giving not a tip. Considered it as a bible. If you accomplish with your website the following rules you will rank in the 1st 5 places of google no matter what.
I go again through the casino examples and the difference is very small but one ranks 1st and the second ranks 8th. I hope you the pros this time will understand that I am just trying to help here:
So lets go:
Keyword: online casino (desired one :)

Of course the one that ranks first shows 180k domains backlinks against 2.3 k form the second one. So this tells you also that backlinks are as we all know here very important. But you can go ahead and compare other sites in second page that will show 30k or 82 k links but have way more onpage errors.
I hope this one helps all.

regards,
Al

They didn't laugh at you because of your previous thread because it was very "newbie" actually, the reason is because the thread title is very misleading.

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate it, nothing makes a forum stronger than member interaction, and its post like yours that makes me want to check BHW everyday.

So thank you mate. Don't get tired of sharing.

btw peter73. All this story started after my ex boss screwed me with a lot of money. So How in the world would I be able to make a living (try to get a job? sure but at my age is not that easy) . So I decide to go in Spanish for the most tough keywords for Seo companies. My page is up since august 25th. It has PR0, and some 4.5 K links. the are 2 keywords of which one has 33k exact matches ( im on second page) the second one 12k exact matches I think I will get to first page next week and the 3rd one 6.600 exact matches I'm on place 8 on first page but not only on G also on bing and yahoo.
SEO companies in Spanish must be going nuts ^^^^ and I love it.

Hi aldragon, this is actually good stuff...
Good Luck mate, drop me PM if you want exchange some tips :)

With 180k domain backlinks, thoose factors are hardly significant. Not to discredit you or anything, just saying, these are far from secrets.

With 180k backlinks, he could be ranking on backlink power alone.

Using CSS sprites is a good tip, which could speed up page load time.

I'm not sure if you get the point, the second place on the same search has 5.8k links and outranks alllllllllllllllllllllll the others. My point here is onpage.

So not having <h1>, <em>, or <strong>, tags is the key to onpage seo.

It's one of the keys but, mainly to have every image tagged correctly increases the keyword density , That's very important

Nice aldragon! What I find very intersting is that the page that ranks 1st has 43 external links, whereas the one that ranks 8th has 0! This confirms my assumptions that you nowadays got to "link to drink" some link-juice. thanks!

Absolutely right, hehe people getting some nice conclusions already GOOD!!

Wait wait wait, you have said in original post that website didn't had <h3>, now you are saying not having <h1> is good to... You sure about it?
I know that those tags not once saved my live...

I'm just saying that having h1 to h3 is the best the example believe it or not, just shows how a company that has a team of 30 seo experts misses h3 tag, if they did't and with some extra well done urls in the same website they would be able to rank for way more than one keyword per subdomain.
Having all done right is what really makes the difference. And yes h tags saved my but too.

Great post. Either the rankings have changed a lot since the other day or maybe you were logged into your google account when you did the search or maybe the websites changed? Domain names would help with this kind of data. Dates are important too,but I assumed data was compiled the same day as the post was made, which is also true for my own data.

Here is what my tool is pulling for #1 and #8. I want to lend support to your claims, because I think in large part you are correct in many areas (the other areas aren't necessarily incorrect either, just that I personally don't know one way or the other from a lack of data or understanding), but I don't think I can lend much empirical support without knowing the domains of #1 and #8 at the time you did the analysis.

I think it is a fascinating niche analysis you've done, and I hope you make many more posts like this! Very good stuff. It is very very hard to put your own work out there for peer review. Would most of your critics be brave enough to do the same? Don't fear being wrong either... Discovering I'm wrong on something historically has made me just as much money as proving I'm right on something... In the end it is the knowledge and understanding that leads to success. For example... imagine all the time you could save if you knew most of what was BS in SEO. You could skip all that stuff while everyone else still has to wade through it all. That's why proving things for yourself is the best way to go if you are openminded enough to only believe what you can empirically demonstrate over and over again.

I didn't chime in on the other post because I didn't understand it. I think it was an unusual way to present findings and I was lost in the quagmire that followed.

This post however is data. I get data! :)

Thanks given!

Ted

Custom built... eventually I want to offer it as a low cost web service. It still has issues, like its only Google US at the moment. I need to make the data centers configurable. The documentation is totally non-exsitant. It needs a variable length phrase density report (1-4 words should suffice) ... backlink analysis that categorizes and sorts a large as possible sample of meaningful backlinks into practical groupings like blog posts, blog comments, new articles, link directory, press release, forum post, profile page, etc... and then ultimately detect and report on known SEO tactics BH,WH, or otherwise, and of course "factor trending charts" in the top 100 serps for the niche that empirically demonstrate via statistical analysis that the content factors I am making recommendations actual trend towards a specific window of min, max, avg as you approach #1. If the graph if spiky and chaotic for the factor it is measuring then that isn't a powerful factor for this particular search or keyword space. Of course blending the chart data from 1000 similar niche keywords produces safer data. Ideally I'd store your past searches and give you a tool to select the ones you want to use collectively to assemble your factor trending charts.

Still a ways off I'm afraid.

Was just #1 and #8 from the US search... just a fluke you know him... Or you are perversely dialed into your keyword space. ;)

Cheers.

Yeah. I figured something like that was up... Should add any criteria like that to the data for us number crunchers. Helps us understand and validate findings... or know when we can't.

Haha no!! I did work for a huge casino company so I know the prices of websites and also how tough is to rank. When I came across his website just freaked out so I saw "this website in for sale" and went for it, cuz I do know potential buyers :)
