How to set up a proxy in your browser

Why is it that my proxies work in IE but NOT in Firefox?

Firefox stores the proxy information by itself, Chrome and IE use the windows system proxy settings. So changing the proxy in Chrome also changes the proxy in IE and all the program you use that get their proxy settings from windows.
Hope that clear some questions above up.

Depends on what you mean with information. Cookies stored by your browser will be readable regardless using proxies. But if you mean information about your real ip address, that depends on the people running the proxy.

Just fill in the settings as described in the first post. I once used a firefox plugin where I could change different configured proxy settings with a mouseclick, but I can't remember the name. Just google it

Im guessing what im trying to say is can people get pass the proxy or even worst can they track down you proxy provider? I noticed when I plugged my proxy into my browser I noticed some websites didnt work and they were private proxies so Im guessing some sites can detect proxies!

I've a dumb question... im using scrapebox with my paid proxies... but having a bit of a time with it... the owner's getting back to me with some lookylooky at my error log file..

Thing is this.... I, my machine is connected to a modem router, Do I need to portforward every port for my paid proxies in order that I can post.. harvesting has been fantastic, but posting has been a real hell hole... I'm going to do it now and see if that helps.. just thought I'd ask here 1st...

Nice post.
I have tried it for firefox.
But when I activated it my browser was not working properly.
Then I have to transformed to no proxy in firefox.
Can anybody tell me why happened it?

I did process as under way

1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. Click the Tools item in the menu bar, in Internet Explorer 7 it is a button at the right side.
3. Now click the Internet Options menu item.
4. Click the Connections tab.
5. In the "LAN-Settings" field, click Settings
6. In the Proxy server field, make sure the Use a proxy server for your LAN box is checked.
7. Enter the the proxy's IP in the Address box, and the Port in the Port box.
8. Click OK.
9. Click OK again.

If I use a password manager like roboform (which is a toolbar that remembers my many accounts & form fill-in information on them) will this affect me going undected? or could this be used to identify me and my IP address.
