Super pricing on VPS's

their dedis are pretty cheap too..whats the best plan they have for xrumer hosting? Not going "all out" with xrumers, just need something cheap to learn xrumer on.

I bought VPS package 2 from VD ut I'm having problem at config nameservers and resolver's IP. I contacted Josh before but it is hard to get in contact due to our time zone. Anyone can help me with this issue? Does VD has default nameservers so we can park domains without creating custom nameservers?

Create your name servers at the registrar pointing to the server's main ip without creating the name server on the server itself.

I bought into this after the thought that it was good value

but the support fkg sucks dogs balls

took 4 days to get me set up - if not it was 5-6 days

been with them 3-4 months now

wake up this morning and all my sites are down

emailed them 3 hours ago and no response as yet - which is about normal - cause they average 2-3 days per email

because of this I went to the web hosting forum and looked for another vps supplier for a different project

found knownhost - with coupon is $8.95 month 1 and $32 a month after that

anyway their support answers emails in less than 5 minutes and had everything running like clockwork.

Volumedrive might be good for BH type stuff - but if your hosting websites - they suck dogs balls for breakfast

Im pretty pissed off with them to be honest.

(they manage to email me my monthly bill with no problem though lol )

We have been more then responsive in regards to your current support ticket about your sites being down and have informed you multiple times that your account is accessible via SSH and that site configurations and or services are not covered by our standard support. As long as you can access the account / server, it's up to you to troubleshoot what might be wrong with your configuration and or programs.

Lol Volumedrive

email support no-one answers - so email JOSH = and he emails me back saying don't email me.

All I can say if you want anything at all - like setting something up or an answer to anything - then don't use these guys

I feel ashamed I fell for this crap - moving ASAP

I also want to say this about Volumedrive

I am the customer - I pay you money for your service

that's something you need to remember.

We simply asked you to reference all support issues to your existing support ticket and there we explained to you that your account was accessible and that you needed to login via SSH and troubleshoot why your sites were not working.

As stated previously, if you need further assistance, please do not hesitate and we'll be happy to help.

No thanks - I'm moving to another company

its been one thing after another with your company

and I feel its best for my company to move elsewhere.

I honestly have no confidence to do business with Volumedrive any longer.

We wish you the best of luck moving forward and please do not hesitate to contact us if you need further assistance.

dude you were paying for unmanaged services... what did you expect? its not upto them to fix your server's software setup if the os and network are up fine and theres no hardware fault... sigh anyway

My VPS was setup in about 3 hours, I always get a reply when I email [email protected] and sometimes I even get immediate replies.

So, my conclusion is either you're the most unlucky person on earth or you're just a piece of shit trying to ******** other people up!

There are absolutely nothing wrong with their service, you're just a noob who can't setup the appropriate services and software on your machine, so, either you should get someone else to setup the VPS for you or you should just walk away and stick to good ol' fashion shared hosting OR you just need to pay 50-100 bucks each month for a managed VPS. As simple as that! You shouldn't come a tell everyone that their service "suck balls" just because you're a ********ing noob...

P.S I'm not Josh from Volumedrive, I'm just a happy customer! :p

Dude i want to check the site in your signature but firefox give me
"This Connection is Untrusted" , why this site untrusted ?

Look I was nice too them by not listing all the problems I had with this company

if you really want me too I will - so I do not appreciate the reponses you simply do not understand the facts.

As far as the support issue etc - let me be clear - there

I emailed support got no answers from any email address provided - I then email Josh and he says do not email me ..... so if you think thats customer service then fine... and this is just the last time - not including the time I was told to ******** off.

I currently rent 2 dedicated servers and have 3 VPS's so yeah whatever... I only added 50 sites to this company because of tropheum - so my bad for listening to him.

Im going to give you the straight call on this company - and that is - to avoid them at all costs... if you dont like the truth then I can't help you.

hmm i'm confused , i want to buy dedicated server hosting but reviews here not good .

Has any one here used VOLUMEDRIVE with a SENDING email software (like email Interspire Internet Marketing)?
We have some emails and I usually send them from my actual server. But I think with a VPS it could be fast.

I'd like to know WHAT do I need to do to configurate it.

Tks!

I have the package 3 vps for 5 days now. I mailed support a couple times and they answered my email whithin 15 minutes every time! I use the VPS only for hosting my domains, so can't tell you about email, but it shoulldn't be a problem. If you choose Cpanel, Apache and everything is set up for you. You just have to install interspire. Correct me if I'm wrong..

Hello navimeister,

Thanks for your review.

First think (IN MY CASE): THE PROBLEM is not in VolumeDrive, but in me. I have not the necessary knowledge to use a VPS without CPANEL.
But, at the same time, I don't want to pay, every month 15$ for CPANEL, specially because I will not migrate my plan from DreamHost (default hosting) to VolumeDrive (VPS).

I haven't had time to study this. I am doing a lot of things everyday, this can not be one more.

When I post here (like a newbie in this market of VPS servers), I thought could have something like a TUTORIAL (or something like that) to explain the basics steps.
After about 5 post in this thread, I can be sure... this tutorial does not exist (or maybe, no one here knows it).

I know Cpanel could help everything, but I don't want to use it. I'd like to use a COMPETITOR, specially if OPENSOURCE or FREE... like:
http //isp-control net/
or
http //admin demo.isp-control net/
or something like
http //www webmin com/

Easy Hosting Control Panel
http://ehcp net/

GNUPanel
# GNUPanel is a viable competitor for cPanel, with one minor difference: GNUPanel only works for the Debian OS
http://gnupanel org/

Expert Insight
# In reviewing your options for free alternatives to cPanel, always try the control panel's demo if they offer one. All of the free control panels mentioned here offer demo interfaces that you can instantly view and work in.
I did not find a link.

In another forum I read:

I'd recommend CP+ (www.cpplus.info) or DirectAdmin (http://www.directadmin.com/)
Or if you want to sell hosting, then I'd recommend HSphere.
http://vhcs.net
Ensim - http://www.ensim.com/products/pro/
Plesk - http://www.swsoft.com/en/products/plesk/

Plesk, if I am not wrong, is for WINDOWS servers.

******************

Like I can see in this thread, I will need to start the service with VolumeDrive to see what I will need to do to configurate it, because no one answer anything about that.

No problem with it, specially because the price (5$) is very cheap. But I think could be very useful if we could try to give some ideas here about what we need to do to configurate a VPS like this (unmanaged). I have no expertise to help anyone at this time.

At least, I will try to configurate one of these Freeware Panels I post above.

For me, the problem is not in VolumeDrive (Josh), but in me. I have no experience working with this kind of VPS.

Thanks!

I just ordered the third package last night, it was setup this morning. I emailed support with a question and they responded within 10min.

I didn't want to pay extra for cpanel so I installed kloxo instead. I have 5 sites setup so far and everything is running smooth.

So far I'm happy, I'll follow up in a couple weeks.
