I was just wondering what you guys use for an AntiVirus.

I just wiped my system AGAIN because of viruses and want to install everything I possibly can to make sure it doesn't happen again.

I have NOD32 installed now, but was wondering what else I should use, if anything.

In addition to using either Kaspersky or NOD32, it would be wise to get Hitman Pro and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (paid version if possible). Also get CCleaner (it's free) and run it after each session online. I also use Sandboxie and run my browser through Sandboxie.

You can't be too careful nowadays. The internet is a malicious jungle.

I for one run solo with just Avast! Pro. I don't think that i've come across anything too crazy in my lifetime, and to combat the spyware, schedule Spybot S&D or AdAware. All quality software, and all have free versions

You might have heard this before, the best AntiVirus sits in front of the screen. Don't trust any antivirus software fully, they get a detection ratio of 95% at best. Don't run shady executable files, don't start anything that can get code executed if it is from a source that has not to care about its reputation. If absolutely necessary, use a sandbox to test it. It's uncomfortable, as it takes a few clicks more, but you know the amount of work you get when a virus ********s up your system. Don't ever use the internet explorer or firefox. Every idiot and his cousin target these, cause four of five computers have them installed. I'm a bit on the paranoid side when it comes to computer security, so I solved the whole problem for me by using PC-BSD as desktop operating system and running the windows software I need through Wine. Besides the overall security focus, BSD has a desktop market share of less than 0.05%, so you can count the viruses that might target this system at all on your fingers. Never had a virus or spyware problem anymore.

QFT. ESET NOD32 is awesome, demands low CPU and RAM, and updates regularly. I also suggest running CCleaner every once in a while to make your PC faster (cleans up useless/temp files etc)

Use Nod myself, seems to have done its job over the last few years.that and common sense, biggest problem i had was accepting stuff from people who give you a USB stick,their always full of viruses

Used NOD32 for 7-8 years ago.. Before that i used Panda.
Now i have been using AVG for 3 years.

And as WizGiz says, there is no security in any programs longer.
Best security you can get is your brain.

Stay clear of what you download, and always run a virustotal scan (if file is lower than 20 MB) before running.

Im also running Sandboxie by the way, great tool.

I use Forefront Client Security "enterprise" at work and Security Essentials at home. Its the same product but forefront is for enterprise and security essentials is for home use. Its free if you got a "real" MS license.

Id liked NOD32 before that.

Microsoft Security essentials is free and is not a resource, control hog.
I had avg and avast tell me they found something but couldn't remove it, MSE fixed it.

didn't try kaspersky so can't compare
