Yeah likes dont mean much to the algo, completion rate and shares matter way more. That first hour is usually just TikTok testing the video on some followers and a small group of other people to see if they keep watching. If most swipe away in the first couple seconds, reach kinda dies off. Still wouldnt delete them tho, I've had dead posts get views weeks later out of nowhere just because the sound started trending or people found it through search. Why do the videos I post on TikTok get a high number of views and likes in the first hour, only to then go completely quiet? This has happened with 10 of my videos now. Is it due to the distribution algorithm or user behavior?

My content is about animal entertainment,do I need to change it?Are your videos good quality/entertaining?
This seems like a regular algorithm behaviour - on upload it pushes your video to broad audience, then detects that users aren't engaging that much with your video and slowly your video's reach dies out.
My content is compiled from other popular channels. I think it’s quite good and I’ve also included music that is currently trending.I think your content might not be engaging enough. it fails to keep viewers watching until the end during the initial period, which is why the TikTok algorithm has stopped recommending your video.
The metrics for almost all 10 videos are the same. I have come up with an explanation for this.TikTok may test a video with an initial audience before expanding distribution, so views can slow if watch time, completion rate or engagement aren't strong enough. Check those metrics across all 10 videos and compare which ones kept viewers watching longest.
I think that might be your problem right there. Originality 0/100. You should be creating your own content, and not scraping and stealing the content from others. You'll eventually get shadow banned, as algorithms can learn to detect you, you can't learn to detect their changes, apart from non existent progress. My content is compiled from other popular channels.
maybe tiktok boosts ur videos initially but once that initial audience sees the video, its reach starts to decrease.if this trend is consistent across ten videos i would focus on the number of views nd watch time rather than just likes.do u see a revival of view countts a day or two later for any videos? Why do the videos I post on TikTok get a high number of views and likes in the first hour, only to then go completely quiet? Why do audiences refuse to embrace it? I’m just creating entertainment content, after all.TikTok algo see something in your videos that audience don't see or reject
My follower count is also very low, but I don’t think the issue lies with the number of followers.TikTok notify profile followers of new post content from follow profiles for engagement and live content on include trend pages for engagement and followers growth.
tiktok views can be strange at times. just bcz there is a good start does not mean that the video will continue to be promoted.the video may work well for the first set of viewers but not so well with the following viewers. have u considered whether viewers are actually watching the enttire video? Why do the videos I post on TikTok get a high number of views and likes in the first hour, only to then go completely quiet? it could be that tiktok offers ur video a little bit of exposure and then determines whether to continue promotting it. what is interesting is that this has occurred for 10 videos, so u should probably consider looking at the average watch time rather than just the number of likes. there have been cases where someone liked the video but just scrolled past too quickly. Why do the videos I post on TikTok get a high number of views and likes in the first hour, only to then go completely quiet?
