Have you guys seen YouTube's new update about wiping out channels that reuse other people's content? It's a big update because it will push creators to focus on quality.

Even people doing repurposed videos, if they are low effort and low quality, will have their channels terminated. Just got the update yesterday.

How are you planning to move your channels with this great update, and what are your plans?

Finally, YouTube is back.
I am happy with this update because so many people were just copy pasting the content of other creator and taking all those views and credit but the one who puts efforts does not get anything.

my opinion is that it is about providing value rather than merely reuploading video clips. in case there is repurposing of videos my suggestion is to make sure that there r edits done to the clip or some sort of original cmnt so that it becomes a new video itsellf.

I totally agree with you! What is your niche? Also do you use AI to make your videos?

Finally!!! Truly happy about this update.

Sadly, lot of people will starve now..

My plan would be to move toward more original content while using existing material only as supporting footage, with stronger narration, research, and editing to make each video genuinely different.

this would be taken as a sign not to continue viewing repurposing as simply chopping up someone elses video nd posting it as ur own.it is possible for repurpposing to have value, so long as there is enough transformation done to ensure that u present viewers with something different. it could be a discussion, opinion, narrative or any kind of commentary on the video.

Yeah, I’ve seen the update. The main change is really about mass-produced and repetitive content, while reused content can still be monetized when there’s meaningful original commentary or editing.

YT knows that there is a bigger bullshit than AI slop that is clipping

You scroll your short feed and for every original content you get two movie/tv shows clips and a copy/pasted content from tiktok

I think is a good measure from YT not to give free visibility to this kind of content

I say free visibility because as soon as that farms or bulk uploaders pay for promoting their videos, our short feed is going to be again full of bullshit

I think a safer approach is to ensure the content offers genuine value through transformative work. I now place greater emphasis on original scripts, voiceovers, editing, and actual commentary, rather than simply repackaging clips from others.

Youtube new policy directly targets channels that steal others' content for profit, finally giving due recognition to the original creators. Since I only film personal vlogs, the policy doesn't affect me.

Its good move. My most of videos are recopied by my competitors and now they are in controll

This update could be good for creators producing original work. Even repurposed content may survive if it provides meaningful transformation instead of just recycling existing videos.

I agree with this new updated policy, YouTube protects original creators by tightening regulations for handling reupload channels. encouraging everyone to contribute new creative value.

You are right indeed and that is why youTube is making this change because people were not creating something new.

I am running several channels but my main channel is related to graphic design but I am not focused on it for now.

that's right and it will also give the right and credit to the original creator.

I’d focus more on original scripts, commentary and editing instead of just repurposing clips. Reused content can still work if you add real value, but low-effort copy-paste channels look much riskier now.

I think this is a good move overall. Low-effort reused content has become pretty common, so focusing more on original input, editing, and actual value should help long-term. I’d rather improve the quality of existing channels than keep scaling low-effort content.
