Need Help Selling a #1 Website to a Celeb

I own a number 1 site using a celebs nick name exact dot com URL but its what everyone calls him and he blowin up right now...... It got well over 45K unique visitors this month and ranks above his wiki and FB pages. Its a PR 3 with only like 500 backlinks but that can easily be increased if I wanted to.... My question is how do I got about getting this site sold to him? I need someone who sells sites professionally and has good connections.

I was looking into this afew mmonths ago, purchased the domain name of an athlete who is a rising star (was getting over 100k hits amonth) and thought about making a basic "fan" site until I could somehow get contacted by him to be purchased.. but since I didnt know much of the le gal ramifications I asked for a refund from godaddy..

Is it ille gal to take someone famous' name on the domain and market it/try to back to them?

Read the ICANN's UDRP.

Offer him the site for anything more than a very low price and it could be considered a ransom amount. That would be enough for him to launch bad faith action against you under UDRP and get the domain for free.

Asking for compensation for $50 or $100 spent on development would probably be OK. Anything more and you lose. Tread carefully.

Yea except he tried to trademark his nicknae and was turned down a few weeks ago....... big people have inquired about the doamin though.. there is no ransom, its an investment in his name in my eye. Im not running scared by any means.

Post some stats and make a link on the site to buy it via an auction or a fixed price... if anyone want's to buy it they will! (be it the celeb or some fan)

Ive even spoken to an intellectual property attorney. The purchase of the domain name and the 250 blogs posts was an investment not in his name smart ass. Plus what idiot would ever say that to the celeb or lawyer... I was making reference to the efforts I made marketing and building the site, which I SHOULD be awarded if I find the right person to buy it..... Intellectual Property isn't as black and white as you think.

Karlos is correct in saying if you try to contact him and say "hey buy my site for 10k" he can sue you and get it for free. he was just trying to help you.

I advise that you sell it on flippa or something, instead of to the celeb. Its more likely to get a higher price.

He already sounds like a spoiled/crybaby/lazy/good-for-nothing type(most celebs are)...

I'd make more links, Youtube vids, Twitter account connected to it, Facebook account(with fan page) connected to it...and hold onto it for a lil while longer...just to tease him!

his manager actually Inquired about buying it, I told him I am considering the offer and might put it up on flippa to sell. The site now has 8k links and is a pr 4, I will take you advice and market the site more to try and draw a higher price.

I was never going to contact him directly, I was tired of Karlos telling me that I can be sued. He TRIED to copy right his nickname and was denied the domain url is the nickname thus he cannot sue me. He cannot sue me, the only thing that could happen is he request to have photos and content taken down. I did do some research, I just hate when people rip on the OP.... This forum is for knowledge and helping each other out, not for trash talking all the time. They have forums for that.

I have just acquired a domain that has a word in it that has the (r) next to it on another site. How should I go about using this domain? Is there any ways that I could prevent any ramifications?

And also if I posted a link to this site on a facebook profile, do you think it would have been indexed by the SE's and sandboxed?

iv actually done this in past and been very sucessfull but it does take a lot of leg work to get a good payout.

iv actually developed a system though that streamlines most of that and would be willing to share the method for a small percentage or even implement it for a little extra coin
