nah there's some truth i created a new acc on an anti detect browser and it got shadowbanned after just two comments. They can still pick up your ip and ban new accs

ip was not the problem but rather user behaviour and browser data, if your browser is new, has no cookies or history, it raises suspicions

Using IPs can be done.

It helps you diversify and provides an illusion of diversity

But reddit is not banning you by an IP. That's the thesis.

I've spent months testing this, and I can guarantee that this is how it works. I use a customized anti-detect browser. From what I understand, Reddit doesn't ban an IP or its entire pool outright. Instead, if you use that pool for actions that don't leave permanent traces, such as comments and posts, they work fine. However, accounts that post comments using those proxies get banned several hours later, not immediately. I manage a huge number of accounts and have spent months testing this, so trust me, that's how it works. I believe Reddit links all the accounts within the pool. If they perform roughly the same actions, the IPs are flagged rather than the individual accounts. Likewise, my process works perfectly with rotating residential proxies distributed across multiple locations within the same state.

All your accounts got flagged yet you're using an AD browser. Yet you're saying IP matters.

This means your root source goes through the IP.

THe only problem i've ever had in 10+ years is what happened recently when a client purchased a lot of subs they did something we agreed they would not do, before I removed all my accounts, etc. And the 'net cast' hit people that weren't even related to me just they went after all the subs and moderators that could be seen linked and probably have all the subreddits involved now red flagged.

I lost a 13 year old reddit account in the melee sadly. My only true loss.

Not my business however. I wish the client would have listened but they know, they did wrong and we're cool, still doing business.

Your habits clearly matter. I've always suggested this between the lines but it's 'what behavior' that most fail to identify

It's not mobile IP,cell phones use CGNAT ip these addresses which is shared by many phones,if reddit block the whole ASN,non spammers will also get banned on the same network lol

they get used to serial ban evaders pretty quickly. i think for normal users, you only need to wait a certain amount of time and then create another account, preferabally with a obscure fork browser, and new IP adress(and avoid the same mistakes)

Can't ban most marketers today. Too many digital nomads.

You can get a sim card, new IP, on mobile.

Most people have multiple devices.

You have apps now that can hide/disguise all of that if you really want.

yep exactly, account age matters way more than proxy. i've run aged accounts on basic residential proxies no problem, but brand new account gets shadowbanned fast even on private proxy. reddit flags based on account behavior, post history, and how active the acc is. proxy just changes location, it dont fix the account quality issue
