I’ve been working on my blog and trying to improve internal linking, but I’m not fully sure what’s actually making a difference anymore.

From your experience, how much does internal linking still help with rankings and overall performance? Do you follow any specific approach that actually works, or just keep it natural while writing?

Still works if done smart. I just link related posts naturally, use clear anchor text, and avoid overdoing it. Helps with crawl and keeps users moving.

the first thing that i have realized is that when i m trying to make a connection between two articles i need to do this from the point of view of the user. so if it will take my reader to something more detailed i include it, if not, there is no reasson to just follow seo says so.

i have not yet mastered SEO, but what i have found is that making links between related pages will make the site more navigable. do uh normally add internal links when writing or after posting?

but still, it would be more appropriate to add internal link during the process of writing the document, as one will eventually do an audit of the website in the future. the key point is to consider the relevance of these link not just their presence.

this sometimes happens when I write or polish my work in audits. The main thing is that there should be relevance because random internal linking does not really serve any purpose, IMHO.

I have found it much more effective to make connections between pages that were related than to try and achieve some arbitrary no of internal links. If it is going to help the reader then chances are it was worth doing.

Internal linking still helps, especially when it makes the site structure clearer and connects closely related pages. I usually link relevant content naturally, prioritize important pages, and avoid adding links just for the sake of increasing the number of internal links.
