This a funny story. Took a few years, $150 budget, and 2 people, mother and son.

Film cleared 10+ million lol

They are so broke they couldn't afford movie posters so the cinema staff have been drawing their own! lol how about that for marketing and fan base interactivity?

If this team can build a multi million dollar movie with crude tools and aging hardware, what could you do that you could promote on youtube?

You are giving too much credence to Spiderman and Hollywood. Hollywood sucks so bad like it never sucked before in the history of sucking bad.
I spends hours surfing netflix, prime video and hbo max trying to watch something watchable.
It's so over no wonder this is happening.

Yes, the backrooms was a good example last couple of months too, all the lore was built on youtube over a great few years, then guy got a stash from hollywood to make a popular movie that was fresh and with his story lines.

I know the lore, I saw the trailer and skipped it. It was unbearable.

The story is bad and the visuals are too bright, which is what happens when clowns through lots of money in the hope of something gonna stick. Well it didn't stick.
(you are doing a noir it gotta be dark/dim lights, basic shit man)
Well they only had a ten million dollar budget and already made 350 mil back.

Not bad ey.
