This a funny story. Took a few years, $150 budget, and 2 people, mother and son.

Film cleared 10+ million lol

They are so broke they couldn't afford movie posters so the cinema staff have been drawing their own! lol how about that for marketing and fan base interactivity?

If this team can build a multi million dollar movie with crude tools and aging hardware, what could you do that you could promote on youtube?

10 million yuan. That's around $1.5 millions. Still a great achievement. I hope they improve the quality next time as they now have enough budget to make a decent movie.

Yes, the backrooms was a good example last couple of months too, all the lore was built on youtube over a great few years, then guy got a stash from hollywood to make a popular movie that was fresh and with his story lines.
