fair point. i track this stuff so here you go:

on the 5k review delivery it took ~13.8k gross joins to end at +5,001 net in 29 days, so about a third of joiners stick. the drop is front loaded, most leave in the first days, whoever's still there after week 1 mostly stays. refill covers the gap so the net number is what you keep.

live example you can check yourself: tlmtr.io/en/channel/4idyo1 . holding at ~4.8k now delivery is done, losing 30-40 a day and flattening. views run ~500 per post in 24h, so ~10% of the base opens the next day, ~15% by 48h.

engagement long term is on your content tho, i just bring people who were already searching for it.
