Subreddit banned as "unmoderated" despite active moderation

That’s weird. If all the mod accounts got shadowbanned at the same time, I’d probably focus on the appeal first. Did Reddit give you any specific reason besides “unmoderated”?

Focus on getting at least one primary mod account back by making appeals then once the account is clean and visible, submit a ticket through the Reddit Help Center to restore the sub. From my experience admins usually overturn the unmoderated sub bans pretty quickly once the moderator's account status is cleared up

Is it okay to modmail them from a completely unrelated account that was never associated with the sub? And should I mention that I was previously a mod, or just ask about taking over the sub?

Appeal directly to reddit and explain that the subreddit was actively moderated and include any proof of recent moderation activity if you have it

sorry to say but u have to do daily appeal
I am using both appeals page
last time acount banned I did almsot 3 months daily appeal and got account back
now same account got banned ciz I posted my sub link 5 times in commnet and cosidered spamming
now 1 and half month dily m appealing
