My subreddit was banned as "unmoderated" even tho I was actively moderating it.

Not sure if the mod accounts were shadowbanned before or after, but when I woke up, the sub was banned and all mod accounts were shadowbanned.

I've appealed the mod accounts but not the subreddit yet. What's the best way to get the sub back?

After few days
Try doing Reddit request from a different account of good quality

That’s rough. My guess is the mod accounts getting shadowbanned made the sub look abandoned on Reddit’s side. Get the accounts appealed first, then send a clean subreddit appeal explaining that you were actively moderating before the ban.

yeah that’s my guess too. but the chance of getting the mod accounts back is very very low. is there anything else i can do?

guys getting the mod accounts back is unlikely, and I would do anything to get the sub back (following Reddit’s rules or not) so anything you think would get my sub back, im all ears

I don't thing in this case you can do anything is clearly a bug what happened if is true ...... Try to reach out to reddit and see if they accept your subreddit again

Yeah i think so too but that’s the problem. All the mod accounts are shadowbanned too, so I don’t even have an account I can use to reach out to Reddit about the sub. Should I just try contacting them from an account that has never been associated with the sub?

Did Reddit give you any specific reason for the ban?

tbh if all ur mod accs are shadowbanned, takeover request is ur best bet. ive seen reddit almost never reverse shadowbans, focus ur energy on the sub appeal instead way better odds

But it shouldn't be that fast. Unless they've changed the rules recently. I remember my account getting banned some years ago, the sub reddit moderated with it was still active and people were submitting and enagaging.

when the whole mod team gets shadowbanned like that, reddit tends to auto-ban the sub too. appeals sometimes work but reddit's usually pretty final with these decisions. might be worth trying from unrelated accounts but dont get your hopes up

You should contact reddit and see if they can unban the subreddit but if will not work then just move on and create another one simple as that
