Hello Everyone,

I am new to BHW and currently working in the online business space. I would like to get some advice regarding a YouTube channel I am planning to launch.

I am starting a new YouTube channel in the Map Animations niche. Through this channel I plan to create educational content using map animations to explain history geography current affairs border changes daily news and interesting facts about my country and the world.

I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who has experience in this niche.

Here are a few questions I have:
  • Is the Map Animations niche considered evergreen on YouTube?
  • What is the average RPM (Revenue Per 1,000 Views) for this niche especially with an audience from the USA UK Canada and Europe?
  • Does this niche have good long term growth and monetization potential?
  • Can you suggest a unique and memorable channel name thats good for branding? (I understand that a channel name alone wo not help with search rankings but I'd like a strong professional brand name.)
  • If you were starting a channel in this niche today what strategy would you follow to grow views and subscribers as quickly as possible?
If you have practical experience with this niche or any valuable tips I'd be grateful if you could share them.

Thank you in advance!

The niche is definitely evergreen because geography, history, geopolitics, and current events never stop evolving. If you consistently produce accurate, high-quality animations, you can build a loyal audience over time. For Tier 1 audiences (US, UK, Canada, Europe), RPM is often better than entertainment niches, but it varies widely depending on watch time, viewer demographics, and advertiser demand.

Focus less on RPM at the start and more on creating engaging stories with strong retention.

Cover trending geopolitical events alongside timeless topics to balance short term traffic with long-term evergreen views. With consistent uploads, compelling thumbnails, and clear storytelling, this niche has excellent long term growth and monetization potential.

map animation has good potential, especially for history and geography the key is making the storytelling unique, because the visuals alone wont be enough

yeah, there is an endless number of cattle who learns history and geopolitics using country balls and animated maps without sources, go ahead

Thanks thats exactly what I am planning mixing evergreen history geography with trending geopolitical topics. My main focus will be storytelling and viewer retention rather than chasing RPM.

I don't think this niche is overcrowded. If your videos are well-researched and consistently engaging, I think it has good long-term potential.
Treat it as an educational brand it will keep your audience stick to you.

This is a field with enormous potential if you can build compelling stories and content that keep viewers engaged. You need fresh information and a captivating storytelling style.

That niche can work well if you keep the content engaging and easy to follow. It’s fairly evergreen, but growth depends on storytelling and consistency. Shorts can help you get traction, then push viewers into longer videos for better retention.

Yes, I know that Map Animations niche is evergreen. You can still do it in 2026. Make sure to stay original in your content.

this niche is a very engaging one and you should go ahead with it, to increase your rpms, dont just create simple whiteboard animations but instead 2d-3d illustrations as well like those high quality channels, also aim for tier 1 countries to increase the rpms further.

Animated maps still have potential in 2026, but the greatest potential lies in storytelling rather than just map effects.

Thanks! I completely agree. My goal is to build an educational brand with consistent well-researched content rather than just chasing viral views.

I appreciate your advice.
