For me, its still a combination of quality content and relevant backlinks. The biggest difference recently has been focusing on search intent. Nowadays, pages that genuinely answer what users are looking for seem to perform better than content created just to target some keywords.

The advice on here is great, pls just make sure to keep in mind that top of funnel keywords are the worst rn. Google ai search answers these questions too well and just focus on keywords that target ppl who have already made the purchase decision. One “hack” is comparison articles, comparing your brand to (eg non existing) competitors

honestly the page2 stuff someone mentioned earlier is underrated. ive seen way faster wins from going back to pages sitting at position 11-15 and just rewriting the intro, adding internal links from my stronger pages, sometimes merging two thin posts into one. those move quicker than anything new i publish.
the point about top of funnel keywords being dead is real too. AI overviews eat that traffic now so informational "what is x" stuff barely sends clicks anymore. i shifted most effort to comparison and "best x for y" type queries where people are closer to buying, and the conversion difference is night and day even with less traffic.
on the ad spend thing... idk, i dont think the ads directly pushed organic rankings, google says they dont and ive never seen it cleanly. more likely the extra traffic/brand searches/engagement signals helped indirectly, or it was just coincidence with other stuff ranking. wouldnt build a strategy around it personally.
backlinks still matter but nobody outranks weak content with links anymore. get the content + internal structure right first, then chase links. consistency over 6+ months beats any quick trick imo

One thing that was worked well for me is spending more time improving pages that already get impressions instead of only creating new content. Updating those pages with better information and clearer srtructure has often led to quicker ranking improvements than starting from scratch.

For me consistently updating existing content has produced the best SEO results Combining content refreshes with stronger internal linking and a few high quality relevant backlinks has delivered more consistent ranking and traffic improvements than simply publishing more new articles.

For me most effective strategy is strong user intent, internal linking, well-optimized on-page SEO and technical SEO. Other than this backlinks creation is also important for improving rankings and traffic if they build on high DA/DR sites.

Depth of topicality has been my biggest gain. A few pages that are very helpful cover a topic entirely, and are always up-to date will beat the creation of many thin pages
For me, the biggest wins come from publishing content that matches search intent, strengthening internal links, and consistently updating older pages, Those strategies have been more reliable than chasing quick SEO tricks.

For me,improving existing content has worked better than constantly publishing new posts. A few updates,better internal links and making the content more useful seemed to have more impact than I expected.

If we're not just talking about the traditional service and location pages, I would have to say using Ahrefs keyword finder and mixing that data with my AI to create long-form blog articles aimed at industry-related questions that also have high search volume and low levels of competition. This has allowed me to bring in some pretty big numbers, traffic-wise, and ultimately feed my EEAT data with Google, along with even landing some solid backlinks
