Quick guide on how to set up your own proxy.


Most people pay $50–$200/month for residential proxies. Here’s how to run your own for the cost of a cheap Android + a SIM plan.
1. Grab a budget Android phone with a 5G SIM Any low-end Android, preferably used from Facebook marketplace will do. Get a prepaid SIM with a data plan on a major carrier. This gives you a real residential IP that rotates naturally as the carrier reassigns it.
2. Tunnel the phone’s connection to your VPS Set up a reverse SSH tunnel or use a tool like  gost ,  frp , or WireGuard to bridge the phone’s mobile data interface to a port on your VPS. Your VPS now forwards traffic through the phone’s 5G IP.
3. Point your tools at the VPS proxy port Configure your scraper, browser automation, or sender to route through  your-vps-ip:PORT . All outbound traffic exits via the phone’s residential IP.

My carrier gives me unlimited 5G mobile data for $3 a month. If anybody needs help, i can give advice
 
This is a great solution when you only need one stream. However, if you have 100 or 1000 streams, it will be difficult to maintain the infrastructure, and the IPs will be exposed because they are all under the same tower.

Are you from India?
 
This is a great solution when you only need one stream. However, if you have 100 or 1000 streams, it will be difficult to maintain the infrastructure, and the IPs will be exposed because they are all under the same tower.
Can't you just use different carriers? Then, or there's some devices that let you choose base station it connects to.
 
I personally use frp and use my 4g proxy from a 4g router not a phone
 
Not sure how stable this would be in real use though. Mobile IPs usually keep changing and you can run into drops, lag, or throttling issues over time.
Still, for small tests it’s a clever idea. Would be good to know how you’re handling disconnects and IP rotation in practice.
 
I like this setup for one or two streams, but I would not confuse one phone with a real pool. It is great for cheap testing, not great for scale or for pretending you have wide residential diversity.
 
This won’t be residential, it’ll be mobile.

And if you only need 1 proxy and the phone is already in your hand, for the love of god just share the internet from it via hotspot.

I urgently need around 30 residential IP addresses from different countries. Could you please advise me on the most affordable and legitimate way to obtain them?

I would really appreciate any recommendations or guidance on how I can get these residential IPs at a low cost.
