So I make videos with for kids using random objects rather than human characters and it usually got engagement on Tiktok, Facebook and Instagram even though I was just starting with brand new accounts, it's been productive, not yet monetarily but I get followers by the day. YouTube, on the other hand made me think it was the account that was the problem cos I hadn't used it for 1 full year before I decided what to do with the channel, views ranged between 1 - 5 views on every shorts and I had tried different methods, schedule, upload through YouTube studio, post immediately and all of that yet, no improvements. I kept going nevertheless and then someone commented "You're never gonna earn a dime from this account"

Was it one of them AI haters, was it just a FYI to save me, or was it the content he was talking about?

I am so confused, even paused on making the videos so I don't waste my time.

probably a mix of everything, Youtube is very strict about content made for kids mainly because of Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

Basically, COPPA puts your channel in a heavily restricted bubble, which makes it way harder for the algorithm to push your content to new viewers.

That commenter was probably talking about monetization. YouTube is notoriously brutal with kids' content, especially faceless/low-effort stuff. If it looks like repetitive or auto-generated content with random objects, you will almost certainly get rejected for AdSense due to Reused Content or Low-quality kids content.
The 1-5 views is just the typical dead channel issue - YT has no data on your audience yet. But before wasting more time, figure out how you're going to monetize outside of AdSense, because YT monetization for this niche is a minefield.

YT is strict about Kids Content yes,

But... BIG BUT here...

Even though its one of the hardest niches to break into...
When you finally break THROUGH,
The profits are outrageous.

Grown-ups watch 1 video once and thats it.
My nieces could watch 1 video a hundred times without getting bored.

So just one of your videos can get 100+ views from just one kid in a few days.

One child alone can give you an avalanche of views!

Just make great content.
Make it unique.

Try different types of unique and target 2-3 age ranges, until you hit a sweet spot.

Keep posting.

You just need to champion the attention of a few kids and your channel can blow up from there.

Dont listen to random comments

The bigger concern isnt AI or faceless content. It’s that you’re getting 1-5 views consistently. That’s usually a distribution problem or a content-positioning problem

If the same content gets traction on TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram, then YouTube is likely sending you a signal that:

• the hook isn’t working for YouTube users
• the niche is oversaturated
• or the content looks too repetitive/low-value to the Shorts algorithm

I would ignore the you’ll never make a dime comment and focus on the data:

• What’s your average view duration?
• How many people swipe away in the first 2 seconds?
• Are other channels in your niche getting views?

If competitors are growing, the niche isnt dead. If nobody is growing, that is a different story

I believe he/she was a hater. Continue posting, experimenting with content and building your YouTube channel and one day I believe you're going to start making some decent money. Also since you know how to work with TikTok maybe you could offer it as a service here and either "trade" your knowledge of TikTok for YouTube or outright sell it here (you need to be a Jr VIP or marketplace seller in order to sell here).

could be any of those, but random comments from strangers aren't data. what is data: 1-5 views on every short after consistent effort means youtube hasn't figured out who to show it to yet, or the content isn't holding retention. shorts is a different game from tiktok and reels.

the fact that the same content works on other platforms tells you the content isn't the core problem. could be the account history, could be you haven't posted enough for youtube to categorize you, could be shorts-specific optimization gaps.

don't pause because someone was dismissive. pause only if the data tells you to.

You can do that with radio plays as well. Probably the only thing that comes close. Like live streams.

I mean live streams that function as radio plays. They tend to get retainer views. So they are judged differently. Like for example A 24/7 live stream averaging 500 concurrent viewers can typically earn around $2,000–$6,000 per month from YouTube ads. If your fully monetized.
