As everything good in the world ;-) Scrapebox needs some reality check as there is way to many enforcements to the tool and I started loving it too lol... BUT...
As any traffic automation tool, it can get users into trouble, if abused.

I suggest those, who got their asses kicked, share their stories.

What happened to you / your domains / your account, whatever?
And what actions and user behavior do you think led to it?

I use scrapebox for a while and never got any problens.

I dont believe that links can hurt any site,if it is possible, imagine the war of xrumers that will happen.

I already made a experiment with 3 niche websites,i added 10k links to each one in one day, they all went to google dance but back in 10 days.

This is my experienice,if someone have a bad experience just share =)

what is the point of this thread? to get people not to buy the software? Of course there will be losses with such a powerful tool but its all about the users and scaling on a few sites

edit: nevermind, I'm staying the hell out of this pointless thread

I haven't used Scrapebox as I have my own tools. However, any tool needs to be used with some modicum of common sense.

Only an idiot blames the hammer when he hits his thumb.

The point of the thread is very simple... To see what mistakes can cause what problems... If you don't find use in it, just ignore it. It's that simple. As a new user of the tool, I definitely do...

It's simple if you get too spammy and redirect to your main site you will get blocked by Askimet, or should I say Spamhaus, going forward.

ive seen my site with 5000 backlinks obtained with scrapebox with relevant anchor text bounce between rank 10 to 15; while the motherf@cker in the top spot only has 57 backlinks (all relevant to the niche); which showed me that relevance and quality wins over quantity and relevance.

Ive got various web2.0 properties im experimenting on with scrapebox; and as yet i have yet to see any of my sites rise any higher than when i first started to build backlinks to them; in fact theyve gone down slightly.

The jury's still out on the effectiveness of this tool; more learning and experimentation needed.

Im really trying to understand what you are even talking about. Scrapebox doesn't create horror stories, just like guns don't kill people.

People kill people. People misusing scrapebox could possibly create a bad experience. However any negative experience I have ever had with scrapebox has just been my own user error and when I figured out what I was doing wrong I felt quite stupid.

Edit: I think I get your point after reading further into your thread, however you are coming across initially as bashing scrapebox. Scrapebox is an excellent tool and many people will gladly stand up and oppose you if you do. Generally speaking I would have worded you orignial thread much differently. Anyway....

:) So true so true....

Anyway, I generally get the feeling this thread is either pointless, or distasteful in general.

it's amazing that some people take things personally when there is nothing personal in the question or the conversation.

asking people to share their negative experiences while using the tool is educational to those who have not gone through trial and error phase.

the fact that some people became fans of whatever, doesn't mean that one has to only spell compliments of the subject their decided to idolize for whatever reason... lol

and then they perceive all sort of evil where the evil is not lol no need for it it...

the question is very simple.
if you had negative experiences, please share it.
if you can explain what mistakes you have made using this tool that led to the porblem, please share...
saves time and assets to many others who will learn from someone else's mistakes...

bertbaby, you mean the money domain can get to Spamhaus if you use "main/money" site in the submitted with comments URL, or even if you point submitted domain in the context to the money site?

I don't think anyone has a nightmare "scrapebox" story... only a nightmare "user" story. I don't think any external software is going to get you in too much trouble.

pardon me? . Did i just heard stories ? everyone comes along stories even in real life " but that doesnt mean He / she should start discussing it without any reason. :P.

You tell me first " what happened with you while using scrapebox.? we'll see if its credible enough therefore as a result i would share one :P

Nothing personal, you just came off as attacking scrapebox. I would gladly stand up and defend scrapebox to anyone. Given that I have received 30+ times the value of what I paid for it, and the value continues to grow every day and every update, I have a great sense of loyalty to both scrapebox and the scrapebox developer. I have even in vested a decent ammount of my own time into trying to help people here in the forums as well as making a few videos and I have a list of more I plan to do.

Anyway, I can appreciate you thread for what it is, however it would have saved a lot of trouble if you would have stated it differently then what you did.

MORE IMPORTANTLY: I am not sure where you are from, but I am from the USA. In the US we have a great deal of trouble with people try counterfeit money. I know of a guy who got a job working for the Treasury, working with counterfeit money.

The Treasury keeps all counterfeit bills on file and has quite a lot of them. He assumed that he would spend a great deal of time studying the counterfeits as his job was to deal with them. However they put him through a rigorous course on actual US money. When he questioned it they simply told him that the best way to tell a fake bill is to know exactly what a real one looks like.

To that end it would benefit you more to spend your time and resources on learning how to properly use scrapebox, rather then how to not.

loopline, it was an interesting share...
thank you, man.

well, I guess we all have different learning styles, don't we? I find more efficient to me (and to many others) is a learning accordingly to the theory of exclusions... You learn to do basics, then look at "the worst case scenarios" that otherwise you by mistake can get yourself into. So looking 10-100 steps ahead of where you are now in your knowledge base helps to bridge the gap.

I like what the tool has, features, scalability. I also see that is a suicide for the fools. And once in a while in our lives we are all fools, really. Some time too eager, too impatient, or opposite to it, too risk adverse, not taking chances...

So, reality checks and objectivity always help.. But for objectivity you need to compare both sides of the coin.

Really appreciate your story on counterfeit money. I wish I could share some from my own life (how horrible things wouldn't happen to good people lol or to ignorant, trusting people, if they knew better)... But.. that to be told in another place and another time...
As the thread starts looking like a sociological dynamics case study. lol

i agree that it is not the tool but the content of the head of the users that matters :D

For what its worth, I think OBSERVER has actually created a valuable thread for SB owner/users and unless im very much mistaken, all hes trying to do is get other SB users to share their battle tales specifically about what went wrong and why it went wrong, IF anything ever went wrong.

We've all seen what this software can do and how quickly it does it. Remember the first time you saw the promo video for it? Gave you a bit of a hard on didnt it? Yep, thought so. Me too. You wouldnt be hetro otherwise.

But thats not the issue, the issue here as LOOPLINE pointed out, is that people are killers, not guns. Well its the same with SB but in reverse - i.e some new users are going to blast the sh1t out of it and get their sites royally fcukd when there was no need if a thread like this could have given them a heads up about what NOT to do before they went and did it so spectacularly wrong.

Its a bit of a cliche to say that men dont read instructions when they unpack a self assembly piece of furniture, but broadly speaking, even though its a cliche its not inaccurate.

Getting a sore thumb because youve used a club hammer to build a flatpack wardrobe instead of using a delicate panel hammer on it is a painful experience but its not terminal. It just serves you right for not reading the 6 pages of instructions that came in the box.

However, you cant use the same analogy for SB because whilst its true that In the right hands, SB is a lethal assassin, its also true that in the wrong hands, this software is the equivalent of a suicide bomber.

Wading through a near 7,000 comment thread on the subject of all things SB, isnt the same as breezing through a 6 page self assembly furniture instruction book and aint that the truth.

Isnt this thread of OBSERVER's just about helping us all keep the body count down and our websites up?

ps - good SB training videos that youve made there LOOPLINE, kudos for the effort.

britcpa, thank you for your support on this.

Let me tell you, I've spent days 24/7, no kidding, full time reading about SB, had not so much sleep, as you rightly said, i did get a hard on on this thing, as many of us... lol
bought it, playing with it.

now... This tool is extremely experiential (as many others), and it's not like you can learn it all at once.

For example, at first I was sure that if I write very targeted comments, I don't need a gate site and can use my clean, white hate domain, as I am adding value to blog owners with valuable, to the point content.

How little did i know. I scraped inurl list of 10,000 blogs, but somehow did it differently then in the first time (see note on it in main SB thread), and list didn't came out clean. BUT... I didn't check too carefully (just looked at first few harvested URLs), remembering that previous time the list was perfect.

So, I blasted "very targeted", long, informative comments, only to the audience that have little to do with it. And it's because of a very little thing i did differently while harvesting this time.

And that's only one of the examples out of many, many possibilities... just hope my domain will be fine... besides the fact that I will look like an idiot now in the eyes of bloggers, hope that's the worst outcome of the exercise... lol my ego will survive, hope my professional reputation too lol.
