I'm wondering what's the criteria for threads being stickied in non-marketplace forums?

I've seen threads that are 3-4 year old being stickied(last post was 3 years ago) and even threads that are 1 month old being stickied (with no replies).

So is it just the quality of the threads or something else?

Can you give a few examples? Different threads get stickied for different reasons, so I need to see which you're talking about.

The one that had 0 replies likely was temporarily stickied because it was featured in the Newsletter. The 10 threads get stuck for the week and then when we create the next newsletter we unsticky them and put up the next ones.

The ones you linked were stuck because they are/were useful. We're actually doing an audit of all of those old guides and lists to see what is still relevant and what we can replace them with if they aren't.

For both these and the newsletters what we're looking for is quality content.

- Not AI generated (if it is, it has to be super valuable - sometimes the discussion that formed is why we feature it and not the 1st post itself)
- Has value for the community (new knowledge or someone asking for help)
- Has engagement or has potential

These are threads that can't be bought via advertising or other ways. They're hand picked by the Community Team.
