Is it possible for Tik Tok to "cool-down" an account?

Hi, so I made this Tik Tok US account like a week ago. Since then, I started warming it up, scrolling, and interacting with everything, as if it was my main tik tok personal account.

At first, everything was going well, my likes were registering, I started getting email and phone notifications, all well.

The thing is, when I changed my username and profile picture (after almost 5 days), I noticed that almost all my likes and saved dissappeared. Also, this time my likes won't register anymore.

I waited 2 more days, but it still is happening.

Do you guys have any recommendations for this? Or is the account shadowbanned permanently? At this point it feels like a waste of time honestly.

You're talking about a shadowban, right? Yes, it's possible. It happens and you'll never really know.

No, I mean when you warm up the account, you start interacting with posts, like saving them, commenting, liking them. But after I changed a little bit my profile, almost everything dissappeared. Geniuely feels like the only way to make a us account is traveling there, finding a wife and starting a new life because how tf?

Well sometimes it's also related to a shadowban. They remove every like and videos you interacted with

Do you knwo if it's possible to revert this or is the entire account fried? I can't believe I wasted 2 hours a day for 7 days straight for my account to get flagged as a bot, I consider it an insult at my persona

Sadly I'm sorry to disappoint you but.. there is nothing to do. And you'll be surprised to see that Tiktok will not stop insulting you. This will keep happening on some accounts, and that's how it is.

If you talking about shadow bans is possible to save the account but is hard and need patience and constant posting

Building a solid online presence takes time and effort, and it's not just about slapping up a website and expecting people to show up. In my experience, what sets successful sites apart is a deep understanding of their target audience and a willingness to adapt to changes in the market. I've seen too many people focus on gimmicky tactics that might bring in some short-term traffic, but ultimately don't contribute to long-term growth. A well-thought-out content strategy is key, and it's essential to stay focused on creating value for your visitors. It's also crucial to keep an eye on your analytics and make data-driven decisions to optimize your site's performance. By taking a more holistic approach, you can build a loyal following and drive consistent revenue.
My content is extremely viral in asia and europe (I'm talking about getting no less than 500K views per video, and most of the times surpassing 2M). I have 2 accounts with over 200k followers since february, but I can't monetize them because I made the mistake of making them in my country, so I just sell a service and do promotions.

In USA, if I monetize a channel with the same amount of views, I'll be making a literal bank, as they also are all over a minute long and original high quality content.

The thing is, I just need an account to post from there, I don't need any bots, or any sketchy tactic to get viral, I just a normal account to post from. I got a phyisical US Phone, and started warming up the account. But to my surprise Tik Tok for some damn reason still thinks I'm a bot. I don't know what to do, or if there's another way to interact with content for them to see that I'm a normal human with a working brain.

I see so many people accomplishing it, I don't know. I've even seen some dude complaining that his tik tok got USA region and cannot change it, and he used a literal free VPN. How did you warm up your account if you don't mind?

A free VPN? Where did that guy say that? I don't buy that.

And for TikTok I use IOS Phones. IG and TikTok, you always need phones. For X/YouTube, or even Spotify (mostly custom emulators because they're starting to watch out even more), etc you can still use emulators but on TikTok, they don't work really well.

My phones all have USA Sim cards and I have USA Mobile proxies. Settings and everything are set to the US (timezone etc). This is the first important step. Then, for the warm up, during the first 3 days, I don't do anything and I don't even open the app. I create the account and let it rest for 3 days. Then, I start watching some tiktoks and like some of them (2-3 likes per days for the first few days). You can add a profile picture after 1.5 week. This will not always work that way, but that's how I do. And 30% of my accounts get banned... so yes.

No, I was talking about the phase of interacting with other people's content before posting. Where after I followed people and liked content, it all was removed after updating my profile (basically my account reset its progress to day 1 or 2), and was left with a couple of liked videos.

Thanks for your reply, I will try that. Appreciate it!

New TikTok accounts can be touchy. Likes/saves not showing can be a delay. If new likes still don’t register, leave it alone for 3–7 days and avoid more profile edits. Also keep the same device or browser profile and the same IP region, without fast switching or mixing it with other TikTok accounts. For US TikTok accounts, an antidetect browser can help keep the setup cleaner by supporting mobile device simulation and custom proxy configuration, which helps keep the login region more consistent.

Let's say I had 10 videos liked and 4 saved. Right after I edited my profile, it went down to 2 saved and 1 liked, they removed all my progress from a couple of days ago.

It's pretty weird becuase I still recieve emails and phone notifications, which supposedly mean that Tik Tok thinks you're a human and your account is safe.

Either way I appreciate your reply and the details you gave.

Changing your username and profile picture in the first week is a strong account-resale/takeover signal for TikTok — their trust system monitors identity stability during the first 30 days specifically. The likes disappearing isn't a full shadowban, it's an engagement suppression while their system reviews the profile change. What you need to do: stop making any further profile changes, continue the warmup behavior (same device, same IP, realistic engagement timing), and give it 5–7 days of consistent activity. Don't try to force engagement or post anything that could flag review again. Most accounts recover from a single identity-change flag if you don't compound it.

Yeah, you have a point. It may not be only the account itself either. Some of the videos you liked or saved may have become unavailable later. If they were deleted, made private, restricted, or removed by TikTok, those likes/saves can disappear from your side too.

They were videos with 1M likes or so, I doubt tik tok removed those. I think its what vierasen said, Tik Tok removed my account from interacting because they think my account was sold to somebody or stolen.

did changing your username and profile picture really cause all your likes and saved content to disappear or is that just a coincidence

It did. I had a couple of liked videos and saved, and then I started changing my profile, so I went back to the FYP, scrolled a bit, liked a video and wanted to see if it's registered or not. To my surprise, only 1 video is left there, and the last one liked did not show up. So for some reason tik tok removed the warm up phase of my account. 100% not coincidence

We are creating and building hundreds of thousands of TikTok accounts. Our experience is that if you build a single content style, simply changing the content and images will immediately trigger the new algorithm update for your account.

Exactly — you've got it right. TikTok's trust model is identity-stability based, not purely activity-based. The system doesn't care how much you engage; it cares whether the signals are consistent from the same identity over time.

Practically: don't touch the profile again, keep using the same device and IP, browse naturally for 5-7 days without forcing engagement. The risk score decays passively as long as nothing triggers another review. Most accounts recover from a single identity-change flag without issues — the ones that don't are usually because people panicked and kept making changes trying to fix it.
