I have recently started exploring Quora to see if it can help to bring some traffic to my site, but I am still trying to understand how people actually make it work. I have answered a few questions, but I am not seeing much results so far.

The redirect needs to feel natural. That means you should already have provided enough value to your potential audience and then they ask for a solution to one of their problems, so you naturally redirect them to your money site in order to solve this problem of theirs.

Quora traffic is a slow burn but it compounds nicely once you get it going. A few things that made a real difference for me:
Target questions with traffic potential, not just recent ones. Use Quora's search to find questions that already rank on Google — those are the ones that bring passive traffic for months. A great answer on a dead question that nobody searches is wasted effort. Check Google: type "site:quora.com [your topic]" and see which questions actually show up.
Answer structure matters more than length. Start with a direct 1-2 sentence answer to the question, then expand with details. People on Quora scan — if your first paragraph doesn't hook them, they collapse the answer and move on. Use bullet points for the meat of the content.
Don't link in every answer. This is the biggest mistake I see. If you drop a link in every single response, Quora flags your account fast. I do roughly 1 link per 4-5 answers. The other answers build credibility so the linked ones don't look spammy.

I've noticed that many answers containing links have been collapsed or deleted. You can drop the link in the middle or towards the end, after you've actually given value. And if you're sending people to a landing page or product, you'll get flagged. A resource page or case study works much better.
I found that your bio is always safe. I've seen a lot of people putting links in their bios and not getting banned, but maybe I'm not seeing the full picture.
