How to Get Traffic Without Spending Money?

did you see any improvement at all from the social media sharing or was it pretty much nonexistent

If you don’t spend money, then you definitely have to invest a lot of time and effort into it. And instead of just one paid advertisement, you’ll have to do many other things

Hey guys,

I’m trying to grow my website but don’t have budget for paid ads.

Here’s what I’ve tried:
- SEO basics
- Social media sharing

Still getting very low traffic.

My goal:
At least 1K visitors/month

Any free traffic strategies that actually work?

Would love to hear your experience
You can attract free traffic from social media platforms like Reddit and Facebook these are relatively good and easy traffic sources to tap into.

To get traffic without spending money, you need to focus on organic channels. Create content that directly answers people's questions and is searchable on Google. Be active on Reddit and Quora and only give value-based answers, not spam. Share short, useful posts on social media to increase sharing and reach.

Id say implementing yourself in small niche communities and building from there, sure, it's slow, but it is steady! best of luck!

1K/month is definitely possible without ads. What worked for me was focusing on long-tail SEO keywords, posting consistently, and being active in niche reverant communities. One helpful post shared in the right place can bring more traffic than weeks of random social posting. Consistency matters most.
How can I find niche relevant communities.

Fresh Domain or old domain?
How long have you been doing SEO for this domain?
Do you have any backlinks? If yes, how many and from where?

Any free traffic strategies that actually work?
Answer : find Long tail keywords with high volume - target those.
use reddit and quora with branded keywords.
learn how to use pinterest for your business.
Fresh domain and i have no backlinks.

Getting to 1K/month without ads is doable, but it usually takes a bit of consistency.

A few things that tend to work:

  • Focus on long-tail SEO (low competition keywords instead of broad ones)
  • Post consistently on one platform (don’t spread too thin)
  • Answer questions on forums (Reddit, Quora, niche communities) and link back naturally
  • Create shareable content (lists, guides, “how-to” posts)
  • Repurpose content (one article → multiple social posts)

Biggest thing: pick 1–2 channels and stay consistent for a few weeks. Traffic is slow at first, then compounds.
Thanks for your information.

Gaining traction takes time and consistency more than anything. I’d focus on creating content around very specific keywords that people are actually searching for instead of broad topics that’s where early traffic comes from.
broad topics means long tail keywords?

According to my exposure, you should use social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Reddit to share your content and reach more people. Just don’t spam add value and engage with others
Do you mean share on relevant social community?

I'd try short videos (TikTok, Shorts, Reels) or Threads. Its main free traffic source for now. Actually u can try quora or reddit, but its more difficult
What is the connection between blog and short videos?

Free traffic = consistency + leverage. Focus on long-tail SEO (low comp keywords), answer questions on Quora/Reddit, and repurpose content into short videos. One good post can bring traffic for months—keep stacking, not chasing quick spikes.
Thanks for your information.

Focus on long-tail SEO + consistent content + internal linking on Google Also use Pinterest, Reddit, and niche communities to drive free traffic
How to do keyword research.

This is pretty normal in the beginning , SEO takes time to kick in . I feel that , writing super specific content that answers small questions helped more than just general posts . Also try posting in niche communities where your audience already hangs out .
Any niche suggesion for me?

I had same issue before, what helped me most was posting in niche forums + answering Reddit style questions with my link naturally added. It’s slow but brings steady free traffic over time.
Is it still bring traffic?

Focus on ranking in Google Search so people find you organically, Post consistently on Social Media, Create shareable content
Thanks for your information brother.

You work on long-tail keywords, add semantic SEO keywords, and write unique content. You select long-tail keywords with low keyword difficulty (KD)
What is semantic SEO?

Publish helpful content regularly, tap into a platforms like Quora and Reddit for the targeted traffic, optimise for long tail keywords and build internal linking to slowly grow consistent visitors.
How much blogpost need to share on qoura reddit?

Try focusing on long-tail SEO keywords and posting regularly in niche forums or communities that is what helped me start getting steady free traffic.
suggest some community.

In short - yes, free strategies do work, but they take time

What actually helps:
- SEO content targeting low-competition keywords
- Regular publishing (even 2–3 posts per week)
- Social media + sharing in niche communities
- Internal linking between articles

A goal of 1,000 visitors per month is definitely achievable if you consistently build content and don’t expect quick results.
Thanks for your suggesion.

Use long-tail SEO keywords and post in niche forums or communities that is the easiest free traffic method I’ve seen work.
How to do keyword research for new blog site?

The best ways to get free traffic are through social media platforms and website SEO. SEO is a long-term, stable strategy that you should aim for.
Suggest me some social media.

Post on socials hit up forums drop your link in comments collab with others make content people actually vibe with
Is it still bring traffic?

I seen best free traffic from Google SEO + answering questions on forums/Reddit style sites and dropping helpful content links naturally.
Suggest some answer questions forum like reddit.

If you're on a $0 budget, I'd suggest focusing on 'Parasite SEO' or leveraging platforms like Reddit and Quora. Finding low-competition questions in your niche and providing really detailed answers with a link back to your site is one of the best ways to get targeted traffic without spending a dime. It takes more time than paid ads, but the traffic quality is usually much higher.
What is parasite seo?

Focus on intent, not just keywords. Find low-competition long-tail queries and answer them better than anyone. Publish consistently. Use forums like Reddit and Quora for targeted traffic (no spam). Repurpose content into short videos. Internal linking + topical clusters help a lot. Also, update old posts—they often bring the fastest gains.
How much time it will take to rank?

Zero-budget traffic requires leveraging high-authority communities. Abandon generic social posting. Execute targeted crowd marketing on Reddit, HackerNoon, and niche forums. Scale this by managing multiple stealth accounts, utilizing private SMS endpoints for verification to prevent bans, and natively embedding links within high-value replies
Why need sms verification on blogging?

the amount of traffic you want to achieve is possible and won't cost you, with simple seo, you will achieve it.
Can you share some idea?

focusing on long tail SEO keywords and consistent content creation is the most reliable free traffic method for beginners because it builds steady organic growth over time, and in the meantime using platforms like Reddit and Quora can help bring some additional referral traffic while your SEO starts to pick up.

need to do any thing without long tail keyword?

targeting low competition keywords and creating focused content around one niche works best for free traffic growth because it slowly builds authority and rankings. Along with that, using Reddit and Quora for genuine participation can help bring some initial visitors while SEO starts picking up.
Suggest me some niche works best for free traffic growth.

Create useful content. Do SEO on your website. Share on social media. Answer questions on forums. Free traffic comes with time and effort
Is need to do backlink?

Focus more on distribution SEO alone is slow, try targeting long-tail keywords + consistently posting in niche communities (Reddit, Quora, forums) where your audience already exists.
Also, update and interlink your existing content regularly; small improvements + consistency usually bring the first 1K/month.
Thanks for your information brother.

You’re not stuck—you’re just missing distribution leverage. SEO basics and random social posts rarely move the needle early on, especially when your site has no authority yet. Getting to 1K/month without ads is very doable, but it requires being intentional about where attention already exists instead of hoping it comes to you.
How can I gain authority?

Same boat honestly so watching this thread closely. SEO and social sharing were my first moves too and the results were pretty discouraging at first.
Thanks brother

In my case, I started getting traffic when I focused more on long tail keywords and answered simple questions people search, it was slow at first but became consistent after some time.
Where i can answer peoples questions?

I took a new domain to over 11k impressions in around 30 days. 95% spam bot links. about $600 or less in backlink spend.
So, I want organic traffic, can you share some idea?

Reddit and reddit and reddit.
What I need to do brother on reddit?

Short-form video is the king of free traffic right now. Stop doing basic social media sharing and start making Reels/Shorts. Make videos showing exactly what problem your website solves for people. The organic reach on these platforms is huge, and the traffic you funnel to your site will be highly engaged.
Thanks brother for your valuable information.

From my experience, getting to 1K/month without ads is possible, but it takes consistent effort.
But still basic SEO and random sharing alone won’t move the needle much.

Focus on targeting low-competition keywords, posting consistently, and using platforms like forums or communities to drive initial traffic.
Also repurpose your content across different channels to get more reach.

Free traffic works, but only when you stay consistent and strategic.
what about long tail keyword brother?

Focus on low KD topics and long-tail keywords. Create quality and helpful content, and do internal linking.
How can I find low KD topics?

1K/month is doable without ads, but SEO + random social posts usually isn’t enough on its own anymore.

What worked for me on a small site:

  • Target very specific keywords (not broad ones). Stuff like long-tail questions brought my first traffic.
  • Posting in places where your audience already is (forums, Reddit, niche groups). Not spamming links, just answering and getting some clicks naturally.
  • One or two pieces of content that actually solve a problem. Those tend to bring most of the traffic, not everything you publish.
Social alone didn’t do much for me unless I pushed consistently.

Also worth saying — traffic was slow at the start. Took me a couple of months to even see consistent visitors.

If I had to restart:
I’d focus on 1 niche, 1 traffic source, and just push that until it works.

1K/month is realistic, just not instant.
Thank you brother for your valuable information.

Just send comments to blog sites, share posts from social media.
Need to do anything else?

1K visitors/month is very realistic without paid ads, but 'social media sharing' alone usually doesnt move much unless you already have an audience.

What worked best for me is going where the audience already exists instead of waiting for Google. Find 5-10 forums, Reddit communities, Facebook groups, Quora questions, etc. in your niche and answer questions daily. Not with spammy links, just useful answers. Then only add your website when it genuinely fits.
Thanks for your information

Good approach, just keep it simple:

Optimize your Google Business Profile
Do basic on-page SEO
Target long-tail keywords
Post consistently on social media
Build a few quality backlinks
List in relevant directories

SEO + content + consistency = free traffic
Which type of backlink i need to do?

you could get free trafic from viral videos! Ad casino promocodes on your videos and you wil get FTD. Ad logo and casions could pay you for views! Also, you can post videos and generate frre traffic through views and links in bio
Where i need to upload videos facebook or youtube?

1k a month is very achievable without paid ads, just takes consistency.
SEO and social alone is too broad, the missing piece is usually distribution. Write one solid piece of content targeting a specific long-tail keyword, then post it in relevant Reddit threads, Quora answers and Facebook groups where that audience actually hangs out. One good post distributed properly beats ten posts shared only to your own feed.
Also make sure your SEO basics include internal linking, a lot of beginners set up pages but never link between them which kills crawlability.
Thanks its help me to improve my traffic.

In my opinion @Uniqueidea u must consider using Pinterest or Reddit to drive traffic for free as these platforms can bring targeted visitors if you’re consistent.
Only pinterest or reddit? or more suggesion for me?

did you see any improvement at all from the social media sharing or was it pretty much nonexistent
yeah, but slow traffic.

If you don’t spend money, then you definitely have to invest a lot of time and effort into it. And instead of just one paid advertisement, you’ll have to do many other things
At this moment I want to rank organically.

What is parasite seo?
Parasite SEO is basically when you publish content on high-authority websites like Medium, LinkedIn, or even niche-specific forums to rank for competitive keywords.

Instead of waiting months for your own new site to build enough trust with Google, you piggyback off the massive authority these big sites already have. Because Google already trusts them, your article can often hit the first page in days or weeks rather than months. Then, you just link that traffic back to your main website.

Mate “SEO basics + social sharing” is what everyone says they did but it usually means nothing specific. 1K visitors a month is very doable for free if you actually pick one channel and go deep instead of spreading thin. My honest order for free traffic: 1) Fix on-page first, no point chasing traffic if your pages don’t match search intent. There is a tool called freeserp.com which checks your live ranking, crawls top 3 competitors and gives an AI plan you can chat with on each fix, free. 2) Pick low competition long tail keywords from GSC where you already rank position 8-20 and push them to page 1 with internal links and content updates, fastest wins. 3) Quora and Reddit answers, but only in subs that allow links and only when you actually answer the question. 4) Repurpose every blog into a LinkedIn carousel and a twitter thread. Forget paid ads, forget mass backlinks, focus on intent matching and existing low hanging fruit first. 1K/month in 60 days is realistic if you do this consistently.

write blog posting. always contents resolve the traffic as free.

If you have well-developed social media accounts on Facebook, Reddit, Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube, the best option is to redirect traffic from these platforms to your website. This is the simplest scenario, but it requires established social media accounts. If you don’t have them, building social media from scratch nowadays is even harder than doing SEO for websites.

The second option is to find a way to provide website visitors with content of such value that they will naturally want to share it with others, send it to each other, post it on social media, and spread it in every possible way. Each niche has its own type of such high-value content. In some cases, these can be guides that solve актуальные problems affecting many people online. In other cases, it can be something very specific, unique to that niche. I can’t share detailed secrets here, but this type of content does exist, and it can be a real game changer if you manage to find it and publish it consistently on your website.

use conditionally unlimited traffic: Shorts / Reals / Tiktok

Good list especially long-tail keywords + GBP, those still bring the most consistent free traffic. I’d also add consistent content posting, because most free strategies fail due to lack of volume over time.
