Hey guys,

I’m trying to grow my website but don’t have budget for paid ads.

Here’s what I’ve tried:
- SEO basics
- Social media sharing

Still getting very low traffic.

My goal:
At least 1K visitors/month

Any free traffic strategies that actually work?

1K/month is definitely possible without ads. What worked for me was focusing on long-tail SEO keywords, posting consistently, and being active in niche reverant communities. One helpful post shared in the right place can bring more traffic than weeks of random social posting. Consistency matters most.

A few things that tend to work:


  • Focus on long-tail SEO (low competition keywords instead of broad ones)
  • Post consistently on one platform (don’t spread too thin)
  • Answer questions on forums (Reddit, Quora, niche communities) and link back naturally
  • Create shareable content (lists, guides, “how-to” posts)
  • Repurpose content (one article → multiple social posts)

Biggest thing: pick 1–2 channels and stay consistent for a few weeks. Traffic is slow at first, then compounds.
 
Gaining traction takes time and consistency more than anything. I’d focus on creating content around very specific keywords that people are actually searching for instead of broad topics that’s where early traffic comes from.
 
According to my exposure, you should use social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Reddit to share your content and reach more people. Just don’t spam add value and engage with others
 
I'd try short videos (TikTok, Shorts, Reels) or Threads. Its main free traffic source for now. Actually u can try quora or reddit, but its more difficult

Free traffic = consistency + leverage. Focus on long-tail SEO (low comp keywords), answer questions on Quora/Reddit, and repurpose content into short videos. One good post can bring traffic for months—keep stacking, not chasing quick spikes.

This is pretty normal in the beginning , SEO takes time to kick in . I feel that , writing super specific content that answers small questions helped more than just general posts . Also try posting in niche communities where your audience already hangs out .
 
I had same issue before, what helped me most was posting in niche forums + answering Reddit style questions with my link naturally added. It’s slow but brings steady free traffic over time.

In short - yes, free strategies do work, but they take time

What actually helps:
- SEO content targeting low-competition keywords
- Regular publishing (even 2–3 posts per week)
- Social media + sharing in niche communities
- Internal linking between articles

A goal of 1,000 visitors per month is definitely achievable if you consistently build content and don’t expect quick results.
 
Use long-tail SEO keywords and post in niche forums or communities that is the easiest free traffic method I’ve seen work.

The best ways to get free traffic are through social media platforms and website SEO. SEO is a long-term, stable strategy that you should aim for.
 
Post on socials hit up forums drop your link in comments collab with others make content people actually vibe with
