Hi everyone, I’m new here and still learning PPC, so I might be missing something basic. I’ve noticed my campaigns do well on weekdays, but on weekends I get clicks with almost no conversions. Not sure if it’s low intent traffic or an issue with my targeting. Has anyone else faced this and how do you handle it?

Yeah this is actually pretty common, especially depending on the niche you’re in.

Some verticals just naturally drop off on weekends — anything related to work tools, B2B services, SaaS, or productivity tends to perform worse because people simply aren’t in “work mode.” You’ll still get clicks, but the intent is usually lower, which explains the drop in conversions.

Weekdays = people actively solving problems
Weekends = more browsing, less buying (for those niches)

On the flip side, niches like ecom, entertainment, or hobbies often do better on weekends.

weekend drops are pretty normal in PPC because traffic becomes more browsing focused and less purchase intent. Most advertisers either lower bids or pause campaigns on weekends to protect ROAS instead of changing everything in targeting.

weekend drops are usually normal in PPC because people browse more and buy less, so it’s mostly low intent traffic rather than a targeting issue.

weekend drops in PPC are usually due to lower purchase intent traffic, so adjusting bids or budgets often helps more than changing targeting.

this happens because weekend users usually browse casually instead of buying, so I handle it by reducing bids or shifting budget to weekdays instead of changing the whole targeting.

Look for traffic best engagement times. Indeed it is one of the aspect. you need to optimize campaign which will get you best roi at best time as possible. time do matters. Night and day users have different preference just like free time or busy time

Totally normal. Weekends bring more casual browsing and lower purchase intent, so you’ll see clicks with few conversions. I usually push budget toward weekdays or drop bids a bit for weekends, and only keep the high-converting slots live. If you do run weekends, try dayparting and fresh creative; sometimes a weekend-only tweak on a top-performing keyword helps, but most of the time the ROAS stays better by saving for weekdays.

weekend traffic often has lower buying intent, so it’s better to reduce bids or limit budget on those days rather than changing your targeting.

Yes I seen that too, weekend traffic is usually more casual and less buying intent. I just lower bids or pause weekends if it keeps wasting budget.

I notice that too, weekends feel more like browsing traffic than buyers. I usually don’t touch the campaign much but accept lower conversion those days and focus weekdays instead.

weekends feel more like window shoppers than buyers. I usually just scale down spend those days and let weekdays do the heavy lifting.

This is usually due to a shift in user intent (browsing vs. buying); use Dayparting to lower your weekend bids or pause ads during those hours to protect your ROI while testing a simpler, mobile-friendly conversion goal.

Yes happens to me too, weekends traffic feels less serious most of the time. I just keep budget low on weekends and let weekdays do the main conversions.

Classic pattern, happens a lot especially in B2B niches where people browse casually on weekends but aren't in buying mode. Lower intent traffic is the most likely culprit.
Easiest fix is to check your weekend data by device, mobile tends to dominate weekends and mobile conversion rates are generally lower across the board.
If the clicks are genuinely worthless, add a bid adjustment to reduce spend on weekends rather than cutting them entirely. That way you stay visible without burning budget.
What are you selling?

The idea of lowering bids or pausing ads on weekends makes sense, it's a tactic I've used before with decent results. What's also important is understanding your audience's behavior and adjusting your ad strategy accordingly. Mobile traffic does tend to dominate on weekends, and conversion rates are often lower, so it's worth looking into device-specific data to see if that's the case. Reducing spend on weekends rather than cutting it entirely can help you stay visible without wasting budget on low-intent traffic. The silo idea of separating weekend and weekday ad strategies can also be beneficial, allowing you to optimize for each type of traffic individually. By doing so, you can protect your ROI and make the most of your ad spend.

weekend traffic usually isn’t “bad”, it’s just different behavior. a lot of campaigns keep identical bids, creatives and funnels across weekdays/weekends and then wonder why performance shifts.

intent changes massively depending on time context. same user behaves differently on monday morning vs saturday night.

Thats pretty common actually

Before changing anything, check the data by day of week. I’ve had campaigns where weekends were 50% worse than weekdays for months
If that’s what the numbers show, just lower bids on weekends or pause them completely
A lot of B2B and lead gen offers perform terribly on weekends because people browse but don’t make decisions

this is mostly common just use ad scheduling to lower your bids or pause your campaigns entirely on weakends.
