Profile link which is do-follow?

I've gotten an opportunity to purchase a do-follow profile link on a content based website. I haven't read much positive things about profile links, but most of them seem to be no-follow. So this case is a bit different.

Will it have good SEO value?

And what will a reasonable price be for a website bringing in 1 million visits a month?

Do-follow profile links are mostly dead for direct SEO value. Google figured out profile links years ago and the vast majority get ignored or devalued regardless of follow status. The site having 1M visits doesn't change that — traffic volume doesn't equal link equity passed.
The only scenario where a profile link still does something is if it's on a page that actually gets crawled regularly and the profile page itself has some PageRank flowing to it. Most profile pages are buried, no internal links pointing at them, Googlebot visits once and forgets about it.
For a site with 1M monthly visits the seller is going to ask way more than the link is worth. That traffic number is used to justify the price but it's irrelevant to what the link actually does for you.
If you want profile links for anything useful, use them as tier 2 pointing at your real links, not directly at your money site.

Honestly, still low value.

Even if it’s do-follow, profile links usually have very low SEO impact. They’re mostly for link diversity, not rankings. Real SEO value comes from contextual, relevant backlinks not profile pages. Paying for it is risky and often overpriced. For a site with 1M traffic, a profile link might be worth $5–$30 max, not more. Better invest in content + real backlinks.

to be honest profile links are mostly useless for rankings even if they are do-follow. google knows anyone can create a profile and drop a link so they dont give much weight to it. it might help a tiny bit with diversity but don't expect a ranking boost from it.

for a site with 1m visits the price depends on if it’s a real site or just a link farm. if its a legit high authority site a guest post could be $500+ but for just a profile link i wouldn't pay more than $20-$50 max. better to spend that money on a real niche edit or guest post where the link is inside the content. profiles are just basic foundation stuff.

if by SEO value you mean direct impact on rankings then - like everyone said - it won't have impact (or very little of it anyway).

However, for me SEO value also means traffic, so if the page where your link is placed gets traffic that you're happy with (and if the price is right too, of course) I do see value in this because - at the end of the day - you are doing SEO so you can get quality traffic. So, if the end goal is the traffic (SEO being only the means to obtaining it) and if the traffic is of quality, I don't see a problem in buying this link. These days, Google does value links that get traffic, so you can't go wrong with such a link

But that's just my opinion, I was a bit surprised to read everyone's replies urging you not to buy that link, but I would honestly reconsider (just make sure that the traffic the page gets is real and relevant, otherwise skip the offer!)

Personally, I'd ask to see some screenshots from the link seller.... 2 screenshots actually:

1 - one screenshot of how many unique hits the page where your link is, gets
2 - the other screenshot of how many clicks each profile link on that page gets

And if you like what you're seeing (and, if the price is right) I'd say go for it, no matter if the link is d0follow or not, it wil still be valuable!

regardless, ask for proof of traffic. If it exists (and if the traffic / price are good) grab the offer, otherwise it's not worth it IMO

Profile links are generally weak for ranking, even if they are do-follow. If the site has 1M visits but your link is hidden on a ghost profile page with no internal links, it won't pass much juice. Don't pay more than a few dollars unless that profile actually gets its own traffic.
