Over the past year I’ve been using Ahrefs and SEMrush less and less. I finally decided to cancel SEMrush altogether.

Yeah, I’ll lose a couple of leads from my agency profile and the backlink that comes with it, but honestly it’s not worth the price anymore.

Especially now that there are so many alternative tools available that let you pull raw data and run your own AI-based analysis on top of it.

My biggest problem with the big SEO platforms is data accuracy. In a lot of cases, their traffic and keyword estimates aren’t even remotely close to what I see in real analytics.

And bad data is worse than no data at all.

Bad data pushes you toward confident but wrong conclusions—which is far more dangerous than knowing you’re working with uncertainty.

For that reason alone, I can’t justify paying hundreds per month anymore.

Curious if anyone else here is also ditching the big SEO tools this year?

I get the idea but i think this is wrong, having no data simply make your blind and work by assumptions, which normally is worse than having bad data.

But i agree on you that Semrush data lately hasn't been the best. I usually combine their data to Google Ads impressions (if available) to see really how much demand has a keyword or potential landing.

I get it big Seo tools like semrush can give inaccurate data, leading to wrong decisions. uing raw data and ai tools is often cheaper and more reliable for actionable insights.

Big tools are losing value as estimates drift from reality; many are moving to lighter tools + their own data instead of paying for noisy dashboards

I agree that Ahrefs is better, but are their limits enough for you? Semrush's information is a bit worse, and it's also a bit less structured, but the limits allow you to work NORMALLY with large projects.Lifehack: if you don't want to spend money on Semrush, just buy it from resellers. Prices start at $5-6 for a two-week subscription to Semrush's "Guru" package.

The 2-weeks subscription to Semrush's Guru package - is it full functions or curtailed?
