Hello BHW!
I recently got my first BST (Buy Sell Trade) thread approved here on the forum. I sell a B2B service, and while the forum is great, I want to explore outside traffic sources. I keep hearing that Reddit is a goldmine for finding specific target audiences, so I decided to give it a try.
The Goal
I don't have a specific financial goal right now, like "$5k a month" or anything like that. My main objective is simply to see if I can successfully get real clients from Reddit without getting banned. I know Redditors absolutely hate marketers, so figuring out the right approach is my main challenge.
The "Plan" (Or lack of it)
To be completely honest, I have almost zero experience with marketing on Reddit, and I don't have a strict step-by-step plan yet.
Right now, my strategy is just to sit back and observe. For the next few days, I will:
- Lurk in relevant subreddits where my potential clients hang out.
- Watch how others interact and promote their stuff (if they do).
- Try to understand the culture and the unspoken rules of the platform.
Once I get a feel for what works and what gets people banned, I will draft a proper action plan and start testing it.
Let's see how it goes!
I’ll update this thread with my thoughts, observations, and eventually my first attempts at outreach or posting.
If any Reddit veterans have some basic advice for a complete beginner just starting to navigate the platform, I’d love to hear it. Wish me luck!
