Cancelled Premium X+

Reason for canceling:

  • It brings absolutely no benefit to reach
  • The algorithm now penalizes users who reply too often
  • My reach has significantly declined since they announced the new change
Until things improve, I’ll remain on X Premium.

It has recently come to light that the CEO is artificially increasing his paid subscribers. He earns $5,500 per month from $6 subscriptions, which is being called illegal and characterized as embezzlement, given that X is owned by xAI, and xAI is owned by SpaceX, a taxpayer-funded company.

Excessive replies is the most popular strategy to grow accounts. If they kill it, they'll discourage marketers who work like lab rats in improving platform engagement.

A former X employee once explained the platform’s “author diversity” rules in detail.

If you post 50 times a day, most followers won’t see all 50 posts. Someone who checks X once a day might only see one or two, so the algorithm has to choose which of your posts to surface. I’ve tested this a lot: whether I post 10 times a day or 20–30 times a day, usually only 2 or 3 posts get strong reach while the rest underperform. It makes sense. Quality matters more than quantity, because the algorithm can only show so many posts from each account. Users follow hundreds of people, and X simply can’t show everyone every post from every account they follow.

I've spammed/promoted on many platforms... you just need to see what it takes to stay under the radar.

It may take a bit to figure it out, but no platform is impenetrable.

This is funny and worrying !

X has went down so much since even last year.
The amount of bot accounts is worse than it has ever been just farming away posting AI with impunity.

I had the $20 a month or whatever premium and canceled.

No point in Grok either.

I've been subscribed to X Premium for a while now, and it's been working well for me. The only reason I'd consider upgrading to Premium+ would be to remove ads entirely.
