Things you need to avoid when doing tiktok in 2026

These are some of my observations so far this year, i made the list super compiled so if you have any questions i can give my feedback in the comments.

• Linking to Instagram or external platforms
  Direct profile links to other social media usually do not open properly (e.g. when you click on IG link on TikTok you will be prompted to log in and only then you get to see the page and interact with it). Users are redirected to TikTok’s internal browser, which limits navigation outside.

• Fast spam scaling
  Mass uploading through dozens of accounts is no longer effective. The platform now favors slower growth with consistent activity patterns.
  Working with around 1-5 accounts long term shows better stability. Accounts often develop over longer cycles then before.

• SIM card reliance
  SIM cards are no longer a key technical factor in most setups. Changing IP addresses remains the main variable that affects trust signals.
  Many creators still test SIM variations unnecessarily. Stable network quality matters more then extra hardware changes.

• Old shadowban assumptions
  Classic shadowban theory is less relevant in current behavior models. Performance drops are now more linked to content signals and interaction depth (you get no views because your content is bad and not because your 'account' is bad).
  Account recovery depends on activity consistency. Growth systems react slower then older algorithm versions (need to wait longer to see the big snowball effect).

I agree, the most effective approach right now is to grow accounts over the long term by gaining followers organically, which will then allow you to add a link to your bio.

You don’t even need to use SIM cards; good proxies are enough, like the ones from IPRoyal for $6. I’ve spent enough on testing mobile proxies, and honestly, there’s no difference. Just use proxies and go for it!
