Yesterday I was hanging out with my nephew and he started using my phone to take pictures.
I’m not really a “photo settings” guy, but this kid was going through every setting.
Then he asked me to take his picture. He set up everything and told me to just click. Between shots he asked me to change one setting. I tried… and somehow messed it up.
He grabbed the phone, fixed it in two seconds and said, “It’s simple, just press this.”

It suddenly reminded me of when my dad used to ask me things about his phone and I’d say the exact same line: “It’s simple, just press this.”

Life really does come full circle. I think I’ll start using the phrase “these generation kids…” very soon.

2 years ago (when I was 44) I went to do some eye tests (been wearing glasses since I was 10, so I got used to them...)

After running the tests the doctor had prescribed me 2 types of glasses (up until then I would wear only 1 type, myopia glasses, ie. for short range eyesight), and when I asked why there are 2 types of glasses that I need to buy she'd answer "one for short range, the other one for long range"...

And I said, but I never wore long range glasses, to which she said "but now you're over 40..."

I don't have to tell you how I felt that dagger straight into my heart, it's been the 1st time when someone had tried to delicately tell me that I'm old, and I felt every bit of the alluding to it

More recently, whenever someone asks how old I am I reply with "how old would you like me to be?" I know that this is beating around the bush, but hey, if 50% of the time works 100% of the time (which it does) in them omitting to ask again I'm fine with it
