FB ads for B2B?

Do you guys recommend running FB b2b ads? I'm no expert but I see FB as a b2c platform, Correct me if I'm wrong
You're right that Facebook is traditionally seen as a B2C powerhouse, but B2B can actually work very well if your targeting is precise. The key is to use Facebook’s 'Lookalike Audiences' based on your existing customer list or targeting specific job titles and interests related to business owners. While LinkedIn is the go-to for B2B, Facebook is often much cheaper for building brand awareness at the top of the funnel. Have you considered using lead ads specifically for collecting business inquiries directly on the platform?

I haven't run any ads yet. I'm first going to do some research and then start with test campaigns. I have never used FB ads, is it possible to upload any data to make the targeting more accurate or does the data need to be collected by running campaigns?

Yes, you can absolutely upload your own data! This is called 'Custom Audiences.' You can upload a CSV or TXT file containing customer emails or phone numbers, and Facebook will match them with their users to create a highly targeted audience. This is one of the most powerful ways to start because you aren't starting from scratch. Once you have that, you can even create a 'Lookalike Audience' to find new people similar to your existing data. It's much more efficient than just waiting for the Pixel to collect data from new campaigns. Have you already prepared a customer list for this?

FB works for B2B but you'll burn budget fast without a customer list to seed lookalikes from.
If you're starting cold, LinkedIn is honestly better for B2B despite the higher CPM.

FB is definitely more B2C by nature, but B2B can work surprisingly well depending on the niche.

The key is not really the platform, it’s the targeting and the offer. I’ve seen good results for B2B when targeting by job titles, industries, or specific interests related to the business type.

Also many business owners and decision makers still spend a lot of time on Facebook and Instagram, so they are reachable there even if the platform itself feels more B2C.

For some industries though, LinkedIn will usually give more qualified leads, just at a higher cost.

In practice I’ve seen Facebook work well for things like SaaS, marketing services, software tools, local B2B services and even some wholesale offers.

So I wouldn’t rule it out. It just requires a slightly different approach compared to typical B2C campaigns.

Right, facebook is primarily a b2c platform. Most people (including me) see it that way because the audience and buying behavior are very consumer-focused.
That said, running B2B ads on FB is still possible and quite a few members here do it successfully, especially for SaaS, software, consulting, online courses, or business services.
The main differences from B2C:
  • Sales cycles are much longer
  • Lead quality can be lower
  • You need more precise targeting (job titles, industries, company size) and professional, value-focused creatives
LinkedIn is generally the stronger platform for pure B2B, while FB works well as an extra channel for lead gen, brand awareness, or retargeting.
If your offer fits, it's definitely worth testing with clean setups and slow scaling — same basic rules as any other FB campaign.

Facebook ads can still work for B2B, but they are more suitable for brand awareness rather than directly acquiring customers.

Yeah, Facebook is mostly B2C, but you can run B2B ads if you target carefully. Use job titles, industries, company sizes, or lookalike audiences to reach the right people. It won’t work the same as LinkedIn, but for some B2B products, it can be surprisingly effective.

Facebook is generally stronger for B2C, but it's still possible to run B2B campaigns if you target the right audience, such as business owners, managers, or specific industries. However, many B2B businesses find LinkedIn more effective.

FB can actually work well for B2B if the targeting and offer are right, since many business owners and decision makers still spend time on the platform. It usually works better for lead generation or retargeting rather than direct high-ticket sales, but plenty of B2B campaigns still perform well there.

Yes, it can work if you target the right audience. I have seen some good leads come from Facebook B2B campaigns

FB B2B ads can work, but they require smart targeting and a strong value proposition
it’s not a mass-audience play like B2C.

If you already have a customer database, it’s best to upload that list to your ad account so you can use Lookalike Audiences to find people similar to those on the list and try running ads to that audience; it’s best to start with a 1% similarity.

If you don’t have such a list, try running ads in specific locations where your customers might be, such as offices in major cities, and set the ads to run only on weekdays and during business hours when these people are at work. The cost per impression will be high, but you’ll have a chance to show your ads to potential customers.

Yes, FB can work for B2B, but targeting must be very specific, like job titles, industries.

I've seen many people run ads that way and achieve great success. You should try it too.

Facebook is generally stronger for B2C, but it can still run B2B campaigns if targeted correctly (business owners, managers, specific industries). However, most B2B businesses find LinkedIn more effective.

Facebook is geared towards B2C, but it still performs well in B2B; this depends on several factors.
If you need high-quality leads, LinkedIn is usually more effective, while Facebook is strong in volume and cost-effective.
