How do you avoid burnout in online work?

Switch tasks often and don’t sit all day on one thing

Short walks or dumb workouts help too
Gaming or just scrolling funny stuff works for mental reset

I`ve done it for over 30 years, works fine.

That level of consistency over 30 years says a lot.

Totally feel this. For me, short breaks + gym help a lot. Even stepping away for an hour clears the head. Funny videos work too, quick reset and back to work without forcing it.

online work can fry your brain fast. I usually reset with short breaks, a walk or gym session, and switching to something low-effor

Completely agree. That's a good one.

7-9h of sleep a day
Hit the gym, Swim, Jacuzzi if available
Call or hangout with friends
Play video games
Listen to podcasts
Meditation
Think about where you are heading and if you are doing a good job etc..
Go into forums like BHW and read interesting stuff
Sometimes travel but don't go crazy
Go clubbing if you can

All of these work for me

I hit the gym for high-intensity sessions or travel whenever the screen starts feeling like a cage. Physical movement is the only way to truly reset after staring at data all day. If I stay at the desk during a break, the burnout just lingers.

I need to sleep. Sometimes playing games during rest periods actually makes me feel tired, especially when I have uncooperative teammates. Now I realize that only a good night's sleep can alleviate most of the burnout I experience at work.

That’s a solid balance. I like that you mix physical reset, mental reset, and social time. Burnout usually happens when everything becomes screen only, so this kind of variety helps a lot.

For me is when my head is on fire means i need to stop

When your head feels overloaded, why not have a chilled beer?

Completely agree. Staying at the desk during a “break” doesn’t really reset anything. Intense physical movement clears the mental clutter much faster than passive scrolling.

Sleep is underrated. A lot of burnout is just accumulated fatigue. Games can feel like relaxation, but they still keep the brain active. Proper rest fixes more than we think.

I go for a walk in my neighborhood.

A walk clears the mind better than most complicated routines. Sometimes the basic habits work best.

Hey guys,

Online work can get intense sometimes. How do you personally avoid burnout?

Do you take breaks, go to the gym, game, or travel? What works for you?

For me, I usually watch funny videos. It really helps me reset.

Rest is a strategic tool for creativity .
Take 1-2 short breaks during your work time and take atleast 1 day off from work (0 work)

This way you can stay motivated , fresh and ready to do work with the full potential the next day .
