The difference between Facebook and TikTok ad setups lies in the underlying philosophy, targeting methods, and campaign structure:

1. Ad Structure
- Facebook: Campaign → Ad Set → Ad
- TikTok: Campaign → Ad Group → Ad
→ Essentially similar, but TikTok is simpler, with fewer detailed group-level options.

2. Targeting Customers
- Facebook: Very deep targeting (age, behavior, interests, strong remarketing)
- TikTok: Broad targeting, prioritizing behavioral algorithms over overly narrow targeting.
→ TikTok encourages broad targeting.

3. Ad Content
- Facebook: Can use direct sales images and videos.
- TikTok: Requires native video format, similar to user videos, fast-paced storytelling in the first 3-5 seconds.
→ Content determines 70-80% of effectiveness on TikTok.

4. Ad Objectives
- Facebook: Strong in conversions, forms, and inbox marketing.
- TikTok: Strong in brand awareness, traffic generation, and engagement. Emotional buying preference

5. Costs & User Behavior
- Facebook: Higher CPM, users have clear purchase intentions
- TikTok: Lower CPM, users browse for entertainment → impulsive purchases

In summary:
- Facebook = targeting + technical optimization
- TikTok = content + algorithm

Can we run adult CPA offers on TikTok as I see many of them ?

Full nudity is not allowed. Suggestive images are borderline risky. If you don't get banned immediately with suggestive images, you still have a risk getting banned and/or flagged in the future.

Sorry for asking, how hard can it be? I mean do I have any chance to keep the account live for a month

That is always prohibited from advertising or rejected.

Because the customer base of these two platforms is different, we cannot set them up the same way.

Facebook ads are currently very expensive to run; is the same true for TikTok Business?
Depending on the service and the age range of your target customers, older people tend to use Facebook while younger people prefer TikTok.
Do you need to operate cloaking for both platforms as well? (Obviously depends on niche)
Yes, that depends on your industry; if the service is infringing, we need to mask the website.

I completely agree with you; the two platforms have users of different ages, so we need to develop a specific strategy.

From my experience, Facebook Ads is still better for scaling if you already have a working funnel. The targeting is more stable and you can control audiences much easier.
TikTok Ads is great for cheap traffic, but it really depends on creatives. If your video doesn’t hook people in the first 2–3 seconds, the campaign usually dies fast.

Depending on the product, TikTok targets younger age groups while Facebook targets middle-aged and older people.

Each platform has different ways of targeting customers, so it's difficult to know which one is more effective. It mainly depends on your advertising methods and the content you post.

I think the biggest difference is how each platform discovers buyers. On Facebook, I usually spend more time testing audiences and optimization settings. On TikTok, the creative often determines whether the campaign succeeds or fails. The same product can produce completely different results if the video doesn't match the way people consume content on TikTok.
