Valentine's Day

Nothing, Every day is your birthday, anniversary, valentine day if you celebrate it in your way. So we do nothing as where i am living and my hubby we almost going outing to take dinner with any purpose.. nothing like we will go on this day itself. 3-4 days back he says let's go for dinner today. don't make food will go all to hotel. last week we have frnz with whom we gone outing to enjoy. So i feel these are just tantrums which discovered a few years back because that time husband, boyfriend, girlfriend, wife waiting for this day. Specially that day all are enjoying themselves.

My brithday is the day before, so we do to celebrate valentine - lucky me!

Your birthday doesn't count.

Your SO's holiday dwarfs that like a large oak tree.

I don't know if this is celebrated worldwide, so I may be asking an ignorant question.

What are you doing for your significant other for Valentine's Day?

I'm not doing the jewelry thing; my wife has a ton of it from years of birthdays, Christmases, anniversaries, and from times when I was a self-centered knucklehead and bought my way out of the doghouse with jewelry.

I'm going to do a Southern Boil, which has shrimp, crab legs, corn on the cob, andouille sausage, potatoes, onions, clams, and mussels.

I'll use Old Bay for the seasoning and make some garlic toast as well.

When I cook that, we typically take newspaper pages, lay them out on the table, and just grab what works.

What are your plans?
Watching movie . Cooking food

No fancy stuff this year.
Just cooking steak with all the sides and opening a good bottle of red.

I’m with you on skipping the jewelry. It feels like the prices double just for this week anyway.

We’re keeping it simple—home-cooked meal and a good bottle of wine. I'd rather spend the money on a trip later in the year than force a 'romantic' night on a Tuesday

Recipe looks delicous, what brand of canned crab did you go with?
I bought Bumblebee from Publix.

I also added in some pepper when I made it, and the crackers were Sargento cheese baked parmesan and oregano (BOGO at Publix this week).

That is a really good recipe, I'm glad I found it.

Are these the most beautiful shrimp you have ever seen?

16/20 Argentine red shrimp.

The right image is them enjoying cheap beer and garlic as I'm marinating them for a few hours.

That Southern Boil sounds legendary! Nothing beats a good home-cooked meal on the newspaper. We’re keeping it low-key this year too - just a nice dinner and some quality time. Happy Valentine's Day to everyone celebrating!
