Do you have to provide footage for your editor?

Let’s say I have a channel focused on movies, fighting, or animals, and I mostly want images and footage to match the script. Should I search for all the clips I want included, or does the editor find them? Do I just list sources where the footage might be, like UFC, Planet Earth, or some other movie?

What about footage that can only be found through torrents? Downloading it myself just to send it to the editor seems exhausting. And if you’re describing a show, does the editor download episodes one by one?
