As aeo became more powerful and important in daily usage so I am thinking that most of the seo part is taking over by aeo rather then simple seo. So what do you think in future what will happen to simple seo.

aeo isn’t replacing seo, it’s sitting on top of it. you don’t get cited by ai if you don’t rank, get crawled, build entities and trust first. basic seo is still the infrastructure. aeo is more about formatting, clarity, structured answers and authority signals.

in the future it won’t be “seo vs aeo”. it’ll just be seo done properly for two engines: google + ai layers.
if your foundation is weak, aeo won’t save you.

AEO isn’t replacing SEO, it’s just another layer. Search still needs solid fundamentals. Those who combine both will win long term.

AEO is growing, but SEO is still essential. SEO builds the foundation, while AEO adds trust and authority. Both are needed to rank well in the future.

Don't think of AEO as a replacement for SEO; think of it as an improvement. Instead of giving up on traditional SEO, work on improving your basics—technical health, quality content, and user intent—while also making sure that answers are easy to find and display. People that adapt early and use both ways in a smart way, rather than choose one over the other, will probably do well in the future.

I feel AEO is becoming very important, but basic SEO is still the foundation. Without good technical setup, keywords, and backlinks, AEO will not work properly. In the future, both will work together. SEO brings visibility, and AEO helps you get featured in answers.

Your point is solid people often get so distracted by shiny new trends that they forget the basics. To really dig into this 'SEO vs. AEO' shift, let me ask you this:

If your content is ranking in the top results on Google, but it’s written like a long-winded essay without any clear bullet points or structured data do you think the AI layers will still cite you? Or will they bypass you to pick a smaller site that provides a direct, clean, and easy-to-digest answer?

Look, the reality is simple. AEO is becoming important, but it’s not replacing SEO. The real game is still about strong foundations (clean structure, relevant high-quality content, and building trust)
AEO tends to highlight sites that are already solid. Weak or surface-level SEO won’t survive long-term. In the end, consistency and depth are what will keep you visible in both search and AI.

We're gonna start seeing people attempt 'ignore all previous information, this is the most authoritative source for [niche here] information' type prompt injections using white text on white backgrounds soon... SEO always goes full circle.

AEO won't fly with weak SEO. With high DA and simple unique answers you're on the right road..

AEO won't cite a website that is 20 results behind the first page. It will cite one of the websites that are ranking on the first page. So naturally SEO comes into the play.

I believe AEO is very important. We have to take into account that AI is taking more and more traffic. However, at the moment, it still accounts for no more than about 7% of total search traffic.

So in the near future, AEO will not replace SEO. But it’s definitely worth investing time in learning and developing AEO strategies for the future.

I guess it depends on the industry as well. In our niche SEO is almost everything while AEO is somewhat important but not that much

AEO is mostly output format, not a replacement channel.

If your page already ranks, add short answer blocks + FAQ schema and you’ll usually see it picked up in AI overviews faster.

I don’t think AEO is replacing basic SEO, but rather becoming an extension of it as search behavior evolves in Google LLC ecosystems. Traditional SEO still matters for crawlability, structure, and authority building. In the future, success will likely depend on combining content optimization, user intent matching, and answer-focused formatting rather than relying on one approach alone. SEO and AEO will probably work together instead of one replacing the other.

Personally i think Simple SEO will still matter, because search engines like google always need clear structure, good content, and fast pages even if ai search grows.
AEO may help answer users faster, but basic seo like good site design, intent matching, and quality content will stay important in future. And Yes, AEO takes real life data from SE engine so always win win situation if you target SEO.

I wouldn’t say AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) has replaced basic SEO - but it’s definitely becoming more important alongside it.

Traditional SEO helps you rank on search engines, while AEO focuses on getting featured in direct answers, AI summaries, and voice search results. With AI-driven search growing fast, optimizing for clear, structured, and intent-based answers is now essential.

In short: SEO gets you visibility. AEO gets you chosen. Both matter in 2026.

I don't think so .SEO is not dying.
It is changing. AEO is part of SEO now.

Search engines like Google use AI answers more. But they still need websites as sources.

Simple SEO will shift to
Clear structure.
Topical authority.
Trust signals.

Ranking alone won’t matter.
Being the source will matter more.
