Anyone know the reason why this happens. No change in content but very sudden drop in views. Average about 60 and hour a day ago and then suddenly drops to zero ? Is there a way to get past this ?

Usually you get an initial boost/ exposure by Youtube to check if your video is organically viral, but if you don't gain organic momentum quickly from there the algorithm deprioritizes you.

Do you even share it on social media app to get more views from it?

Is there a reason why all the other videos get some early traction but my most recent got 0 ?

A sudden drop in viewership to zero, even with no content changes, is often due to algorithm changes, fading trends, or limitations caused by low retention rates/negative reviews. The main reasons include: algorithm changes, viewers losing interest, or high competition.

What fixes to get past it ?

That kind of drop is actually pretty normal with Shorts, especially if most of your traffic comes from the Shorts feed.

What usually happens is that YouTube gives your Short a quick test push to a small group. If the early signals aren’t strong enough, like people swiping away too fast, low watch time, no rewatches, the system just stops pushing it. So it can go from steady views to almost zero very quickly. It feels scary, but it’s not a penalty and it doesn’t mean your channel is dead.

A few things that really matter here:

First seconds are everything. If the hook in the first 1–2 seconds isn’t strong, most people swipe and the test fails.
Retention is huge. Shorts that get watched to the end or rewatched tend to keep getting shown.
If your channel is new, this up and down is even more common because YouTube is still trying to figure out who your audience is.

About sharing the video, it can help, but it has to be the right people. Early viewers help YouTube understand who should see your content. If those first viewers are not really into your niche, the system can start testing your video on the wrong type of audience, they swipe, and distribution drops. Over time, as you post more, YouTube gets better at matching your videos with the right crowd and this becomes less of a problem.

What you can do going forward is pretty simple, but it’s not fast:

Keep posting consistently so YouTube has more data about your content.
Focus hard on the hook and pacing, no slow starts, no filler.
Use clear visuals and subtitles since a lot of people watch without sound.
Stay close to one niche so the algorithm and the audience both know what to expect from you.

And honestly, this part is important: YouTube is not a quick win game. The people who win are usually the ones who beat the anxiety, keep improving, and play long term. Drops like this happen to small and big channels all the time, even after you start getting good views.

So don’t take one flatlined Short as a verdict on your channel. Treat it as one test that didn’t stick, learn from it, and keep going. If you stay consistent and keep improving, the distribution usually comes back.

This is a classic 'Shorts Flatline.' YouTube often tests your content with a small seed audience; if the Swipe-away rate increases or Retention drops below a certain threshold during that peak, the algorithm abruptly stops pushing it to the feed. To bypass this, analyze your 'Shown in feed' vs 'Viewed' ratio and try re-editing the first 3 seconds to create a stronger 'hook' for your next uploads.

Shorts flatlining to literal 0 is usually the system not even running the test batch - happens when recent uploads underperform on first impressions

If your last few Shorts had weak swipe-through or low avg view duration, YT can pause testing new ones for a bit, looks like a shadowban but isnt. Been there - fix is posting a couple bangers with aggressive first 0.5s hook + clean loop, sometimes deleting + reuploading same clip with tighter opening works

Dont spam socials or views right now, you want the next test audience to be native Shorts traffic only..

This usually happens when the platform finishes its initial testing or shifts distribution based on engagement signals, not because you did something wrong. Focus on improving retention and interactions once metrics pick up, reach can resume on its own.
