Where would I find the robots file for wordpress blogs? Most of my sites are wordpress blogs, and I'm not seeing any robots.txt files for any of them.
http://www.domain.com/robots.txt
http://www.robotstxt.org/
just open it, both in the viewer I suggested and in the main field (the rexswain viewer is the more important one)About looking at my code, I honestly wouldn't even know what to look for. I do'nt really know much about html or coding or anything - it would all look "weird" to me so I couldn't pinpoint anything out. I just check the htaccess file of one of my sites that got de-indexed vs one that isn't de-indexed (yet), and they are identical.
holy crap! this is my biggest nightmare. I have a lot of MFA sites... and I also had 50 MFA sites which were deindexed in 1 day... what you can do is to go to google webmaster tools and here you can see if your site is "against the terms of google" you can then try to resubmit your site.. I tried it, google checked and "decided not to" index my sites again.
and what I have learned is:
- spread the sites on as many C-subclas nets as possible
- dont add adsense right away.. wait 1 month or so.
- dont trust google and adsense.. try to find other traffic sources and money making methods. even if adsense is easy money.
Oh dude that sucks, yepp your problem was keeping all your money makers on the same hosting account. Why didn't you get atleast a vps so you could buy new ips now and then? (Would at least spread the risk a little.)
Do you have the same whois info on the domains?
I was thinking the same thing reading this thread, guy claims he's making 10's of thousands a month but needs hand held to find robots.txt file? BS detector is sounding off lol
You may have been banned from google.
I have another idea though that would explain everything. You said you may have been hacked. Check your robots.txt file (its in the root of your domain).
If a hacked changed all of your sites to noindex in that file, then they would disappear from google. However, if you change it back, then they should reappear with the same rankings.
Let me know how it works.
Man, If you make tens of thousands every month then you must be knowing what you are doing and don't need to make such thread and looking such a noob.
From what I read on robotstxt.org , my robots.txt files are all fine. They all look the same, and there's nothing fishy or weird about them.
I compared them to sites that are working, and to sites that are on a different adsense/hosting account that wasn't affected and they looked the same.
If I got hacked, wouldn't my sites slowly drop 1 by 1 day by day out of the google index as they crawled each site. It seems the only way ALL of my sites got de-indexed ALL at the exact same time, could only be done by an act by Google.
I don't know much about hacking or anything, but that's just what's logical in my head =)
You were either hacked and Google dropped your sites because they're serving up something nasty or you were deindexed for being a link-farm.
It's one or the other..
You say your sites are all on the same IP address, that's a big no-no, but it shouldn't kill your sites unless they were linking together which I'm guessing they are in someway or another. Either by ads you're showing or direct links.
