Hey guys,

I am looking to scale my cold mailing operation to send at least 10,000 emails per day. My target audience is exclusively Germany.

I’ve tested a few different setups, but I’m hitting a wall with limits and deliverability:
  • SendGrid / Mailgun: They are heavily throttling my accounts. I'm stuck at a limit of 100 emails per hour, which is nowhere near the volume I need. I had the exact same issue with Mailtrap.
  • Hostinger SMTP: I tried using their SMTP servers, but the deliverability is terrible; emails go straight to spam instantly.
I am looking for a solution with a reasonable cost that doesn't sacrifice deliverability.

Context:
  • Volume: 10k+ per day.
  • Target: Germany only.
  • Niche: Education / Training (Low risk).
Has anyone here managed to hit these numbers in the German market with good inbox rates? I'm open to suggestions on whether I should build my own infrastructure (VPS, PMTA, etc.) or if there is a specific provider better suited for this.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I have seen an Amazon SES sales thread somewhere in the forum. You can try that too and see if it will work for you.

I suggest you try Amazon SES with combination of Sendgrid, divide your sending across vast shared sending ip pool. I have personally setup multiple such instances for my clients using Sendy. They are doing solos and affiliate (cold approach).

I have tested multiple services for bulk emails and most of them failed to deliver emails. I'm afraid a custom solution is the only solution.

If you search properly here on BHW, you might see people offering this service or may know the best one to use.

Some.one sells ses account on this forum you may try that
I use import send

They do throttle for two weeks before leaving it open enough
33k per day they said

Hello the problem with Importsend is that they don't give you their smtp, like you can't use it outside their platform and you're stuck with their non warmed IPs.

Hitting 10k/day to Germany is doable, but not with generic SMTPs. Most people I know have moved to multiple warmed domains and inbox rotation (Google/Outlook DE) instead of using APIs. Own infra (PMTA) can work too, but only if you handle warming and reputation properly.

it's too bad sendgrid/mailgun are throttling so much as they are the best in the biz at deliverability!

If you’re legit in education/training, consider shifting to permission-based acquisition (lead forms, webinars, partnerships).
You’ll get better inbox rates with lower volume than trying to brute-force 10k/day.

For 10k/day to Germany with education offers, you'll need to move beyond shared platforms to a dedicated sending infrastructure. Use a VPS with PowerMTA (PMTA) and warm up dedicated IPs using German content and a clean list. Expect high setup complexity, but this is the only way to maintain inbox placement and scale cold volume.

How do you warmup properly IPS ?

Hi, you can try 1&1 ionos
Using Smtp of professional email services it's working for me every email send 1000 a day after warming up can send 10000 a day
30 Smtp 30000 in the first day
Good luck

My experience tells me, that by sending one message within 5 minutes, you won't trigger antispam filters. This gives you around 300 messages daily. So you would need 40 mail accounts used in round-robin loop — in 40 different e-mail systems. It's doable.

Ill recomend digitalocean vps but digitalocean has smtp port 25, 587, 465 blocked but if you have a old + strong billing history on their platform they will take some info like your setup, servers, buisness information and they will unblock smtp ports.
But if you dont have an active account, old and long billing history account then you can try a shorter and easier way - Just buy a ready-made digitalocean account with smtp ports open (which many sellers sells including me). And also digitalocean has a good reputation ips there all emails will straight head to inbox no junk/spam emails and you can send bulk emails with no limit.

Build your own infrastructure if you have the budget and the knowledge, it requires some Linux sysadmin skills, solid understanding about how SMTP works, DNS....and have the right tools like PMTA, Mailwizz...and know how to configure them the right way.

Or use an automation that allows you to send from multiple Gmail accounts and proxies

You can just try to use AWS ses.
I think it is really reliable and deliverability is good.

The issue with SendGrid and Mailgun throttling is that they're shared platforms designed for transactional email, not cold outreach at volume. They'll cap you the moment you trigger their abuse algorithms.

For 10K/day to Germany specifically, you need dedicated infrastructure. A VPS with Postfix properly configured will outperform any shared SMTP. The key things most people get wrong on self-hosted setups: authentication order matters more than most realize. If your spam filter modifies message headers after your DKIM key signs them, the signature breaks silently. Gmail sees a failed DKIM check and dumps you to spam without any error message back to you. Most self-hosted setups score 5-6 on mail-tester because of this exact issue.

For the German market specifically, make sure your server has a clean rDNS that matches your HELO hostname exactly. German ISPs like T-Online and GMX are stricter about rDNS matching than Gmail is. Also set up a DMARC record with strict alignment from day one, not relaxed.
