I’ve been active across a few platforms over the years, and lately Reddit feels very different compared to most social media in 2026. Not saying it’s easier, but it definitely works in a different way.

What stands out to me is that Reddit still revolves around actual discussions, not just reach or followers. On most platforms, visibility depends heavily on algorithms pushing short-form or paid content. On Reddit, a good post or comment can still get attention purely because it’s useful or relatable.

Another thing is intent. People come to Reddit to solve problems, research things, or hear real experiences. That makes engagement feel more genuine compared to platforms where content is mostly entertainment-driven.

Yes, Reddit is strict. Accounts get flagged easily, shortcuts don’t last, and mistakes are punished fast. But that’s also why quality seems to matter more here. Slow growth, real participation, and relevant content tend to hold better over time.

In 2026, while other platforms feel noisy or overly commercial, Reddit still feels like a place where being helpful actually pays off.

Curious how others see it. Do you feel Reddit is still ahead in terms of real engagement, or is that changing too?

Nice you can use chatgpt, congrats bro! Whats your goal now? 6 days old account named reddithelper acting like expert? When are you gonna release you course I really wanna pay 199 for you to send me pdf you wrote with chatgpt about reddit marketing.

I think with all the AI content out there, Reddit feels like the last place to find actual humans.

The one thing that makes Reddit far better than other social media platforms is its niche communities. Targeting is much easier and more effective compared to other platforms. Also, people don’t usually come to Reddit just to pass time or mindlessly scroll. Using Reddit requires time, focus, and intent.

I’ve seen many people do the same thing. They create a new account, generate a lot of posts, run a few scams, get their account banned, and then disappear. I hope he’s not doing the same.

Reddit is loosing traffic in masses. https://www.wired.com/story/ai-slop-is-ruining-reddit-for-everyone/

Maybe nice for churn & burn projects but a waste of time and effort for all others.

AI is definitely disrupting things. Many people used to rely on Reddit to find solutions to their problems, but nowadays a lot of them search through chatgpt or other AI platforms instead. On the other hand, fake or ai generated posts are everywhere, but it’s not something that can’t be handled. Many subreddits now use AI filters to detect written AI content and reject posts or permanently ban users when violations are found.

Yes Brother, don't worry you will find me here after 5 years too. When you will search the Reddit Helper on BHW you will find me there.

Community, and mostly peeps with common problems finds the answer they needed

I have a few websites/forums/social media where I talk with other people "in internet", and reddit one of them. And I noticed that on reddit is the most engaged audince. If you target your content on the right thread and your content will be relevant and interesting – you will get a lot of views for a few days with active audience. That is why I love reddit, it is hard, but also the most relevant audience for all kind businesses

because it rewards usefulness and context not follower count or flashy short content. people show up with intent to learn or solve something. but lets see this 2026 where it leads coz im seeing an influx of AI-generated answers from there too :(

I think intent is the key point. People come here to learn or solve problems, not just scroll mindlessly.

I don’t think the same way as you. Reddit is still quite limited in many aspects, and its ability to reach a wide range of audiences is not very high. In many countries, very few people even know about Reddit

Half of reddit's content was created by bots even before LLMs. Nowadays you are more likely that not that you are talking with a chatbot on reddit.

reddit feels strong because its friction based - karma, age, mods, context - all bottlenecks that kill low effort spam. feeds arent follower driven so usefulness + timing still wins, especially in niche subs where intent is high. AI didnt kill it, it just raised the bar - lazy posters get nuked fast, people who actually test shit + share specifics still cut through. downside is scale is slow as hell but upside is traffic converts way better than scroll platforms.

Reddit has a huge number of users, very well-promoted branding, and good virality, making it the best source of free traffic at the moment, and indeed the best social platform.

I'd argue it's mostly the fact that reddit is anonymized. People are willing to be more honest when they're anonymous in contrast to facebook. If ***** didn't have the archiving function, they would probably be indexed just as highly for various information seeking purposes. Likewise, if discord ever chose to sell their data to search engines, they'd probably be on par as far as information discussion goes, but they still need to work out how they're gonna do long form discussion like reddit provides with their threading.

Blind and hackernews are examples of niche versions of reddit that are also successful

Yeah you are right. But have you noticed that the Google nowadays start prioritizing the Reddit content and start ranking it on the top of Google SERP. So it upcoming time I think everyone will come to know about the Reddit definitely like FB.

Because they are for our help. Sometimes, we have an idea or piece of knowledge but we don't know how to explain that to people at that place LLM like chatgpt comes to the play. They make a genuine and easily understandable post for the public from your idea.
