New small/local IPTV business: payment advice

Hi there,

I'm just setting up a small/local IPTV business. No website, just word of mouth.

I went with Stripe payment for now, and I'm just sharing payment links on Session app. I'm also configuring a BTCPay server just in case...

I read a lot of posts on BHW about stripe or paypal accounts being banned. Can they really detect IPTV business even without any website or payment redirections?

Yes, they can still detect it, even if you don't have a website, no payment page, and only send a private payment link.
From Stripe/PayPal's perspective, most IPTV businesses fall into the "high risk or banned" category, primarily because of:
Copyright/licensing issues (unlicensed TV content)
High refund/return rates in the IPTV sector
Difficulty verifying service provision
History of abuse within their network
Even if your service is legal or operates locally, their system doesn't assess intent — they assess behavioral patterns.

Dude, Stripe is the best payment method in the world; they have the best developers (because from the beginning their motto has been "from developers to developers"), so they can detect any error you make. Perhaps one method is to create a store on Shopify and register the products, making it look like a real store. Then, create the shopping cart and send the checkout link to your customers. In that case, it would be a real product you were selling. This even gave me an idea: create a platform where you manage your IPTV clients, invoice... with integration with Shopify, WooCommerce...

Another factor that could hinder you is competitors; when they see you're using Stripe, they report you.

@BassTrackerBoats basically they are just contacting me through a private message system. Then I just create a Stripe link.

Also I'm wondering if Stripe is known for disclosing personal informations you had to fill during the KYC process to authorities (as it's rather hard or even impossible to fake it afaik), or if they just ban your account?

Create a legitimate website, a SaaS based platform which can easily be done especially with the available tools these days, then pair the stripe with the product on that website.

See what business license is used to create that stripe account, create the SaaS website based on that.

Also, when you provide the links to the client, give them the main page of your website and let them browse through the steps and make the payment, dont give them the immediate link of the product.

It is the best, but for high risk products they ban accounts for no reason even if payment processing was perfect.

If you can accept crypto payments, Binance Pay would be a viable option, Binance has no restrictions on the IPTV.

Don’t use stripe it’s not “if” they can detect you it’s “when” because they absolutely will.

Switch to crypto is my recommendation.
