Private networks are still effective when kept small, niche-relevant and clean. Aged domains with natural rebuilds perform much better than rushed setups. Used mainly for anchor control and internal page support, they continue to provide steady movement. This still provide ranking boosts for money sites.

Guest Posts Links:
Guest posting remains one of the most reliable methods. Contextual links on real sites with genuine content seem to hold value longer and help stabilize rankings. Especially useful for money pages when mixed with branded anchors.

Niche Edits:
Edits placed inside existing, indexed content give quicker response compared to fresh posts. They work best as a supporting layer rather than a primary strategy.

Sidebar Links:
When relevant and limited in number, sidebar links still contribute positively, particularly for local or niche-specific projects.

301 Re-directions:
301's from relevant, aged domains still pass value when done carefully. Best results come from topical matches and gradual implementation rather than aggressive stacking.

Authority / Wiki-Style Links:
Editorial mentions on authority resources help balance the overall link profile and improve trust signals. They don't move rankings overnight but add stability.

Overall, link building hasn't stopped working - it has just become more refined. Relevance, pacing and balance matter far more than volume.

In my opinion what i am seeing is the biggest win still comes from control, slowing down..and never ever rely on single tactic.. Layering links gradually and letting pages age is safer, even if something works well. Additionally, prioritizing the improvement of inner sites over the homepage frequently yields more consistent outcomes.

Exactly, that's been my experience too. The fundamentals still work, but only when everything is done clean and intentional. Random links and rushed setups don't move the needle anymore, while controlled PBNs and solid guest posts still do. SEO isn't dead, it's just a lot less forgiving than it used to be.

DR is still useful as a quick filter, but it is a poor buying metric on its own. The links that seem to be holding up best are from sites with real topical depth, visible keyword rankings, steady traffic, and a clean outbound pattern.

For niche edits, I would look harder at the insertion page than the domain headline number. A DR 40 site with a live article ranking for your topic can beat a DR 70 general site where your anchor gets squeezed into a random paragraph. Check whether the page is indexed, has internal links, gets any traffic, and can take the anchor naturally without the sentence looking forced.

Also worth watching category spread. If a “business” blog has casino, CBD, loans, crypto, pets, fashion, and SaaS all on the homepage, that is usually a reseller footprint, not an editorial site.

I work with Millenio, and the same pattern shows up in our link reviews: the better wins usually come from relevance plus page fit, not chasing the biggest metric. Whether using an agency, a marketplace, or direct outreach, I would score domains manually before spending.

tried once niche edits, scraping ton of sites for missing links with scrapebox, gsscraper back in 2000s and soo many things...after I found out automation and the power of link wheels never look back. It's easy to work on niches that don't require much authority and make everything possible and practical. My entire network built in few hosting (shared / dedicated) and just dns control with cloudflare and no more stealth browsers, multiple registrars to avoid footprints and so called PBNs.. i do all the things myself and clicking few buttons i can automate link building so i still like simple link building no fancy HARO for me.
