Getting an Office to Separate Home from Work

For me I have a coffee cafe nearby that is like a Starbucks. It is quite big quiet and cozy. I spend most of my day there with my laptop they have free wifi and the staff are fine with me staying for long hours so it works for me. I also save on office rent.

Has anyone else started off working from home but felt isolated so got an office?

I'm seriously thinking about getting an office in a few months and ramping up productivity (too many distractions at home)

What are your thoughts?

i definitely work better at a co working place then being at home lol

It worked out better?

No regrets at all. It worked out better for me. My focus improved, routine became more solid, and once work hours were over I could actually switch off. It’s not magic, but if distractions and isolation are hurting your output, an office really helps. Even trying it for a month can give you a clear answer.

do it buddy! its hard to separate the two (work/home), they tend to spill one over the over and vice versa

I have 3 lads (all men now) but it's not easy when they want to play on the trampoline, making lots of noise and then someone gets hurt and starts crying!

All that going on when I'm trying yo work lol.

Split your office and home in floors either just take a office or 1BHK at rent and convert that into office which helps to active in both without distractions.

For most people, this is the right decision, because ordinary people are often affected by loneliness and the need to be part of a group. I work with my wife, and she motivates me, haha, you can imagine. I'm not lacking in motivation and I'm not overly talkative. If you can find a work partner, I don't think you need to look for another workplace, provided you love each other.

My misses hates computers and technology....so I'll trade you?

But that must be good, your lucky in that way.

Your wife is part of the team and you both get on well at work.

I went through the same thing. Working from home is great at first, but over time the blur between work and personal life really hurts focus.


Getting an office helped me mainly with:

• A clear mental switch into “work mode”
• Fewer distractions and better routines
• More consistent productivity (especially deep work)

That said, it’s not all or nothing. Before committing, you could try:

• A coworking space a few days a week
• Setting strict home-office hours + a dedicated room

If home distractions are already impacting output, an office usually pays for itself in productivity.

It works fine for me. I use a software that forces me to take a 10 minute break every hour so i can stare at people, and I usually walk outside the café since there is a park nearby just outside for call. And yes, I am addicted to coffee, and I end up spending all my money on it.

Yes, That's why you should get an office. Even a shared office would work.

Ha ha, we sound alike.

I love coffee.....I was drinking 12 - 14 cups per day at one point.....that's when I had to do something about it.

When you go for a walk, do you take your laptop with you?

I wouldn't want to leave it there.....it would be stolen
