There was some promotion going few days before where they were paying some bonus to short creators. But it was one time.

The old $100 M YouTube Shorts Fund was retired, and Shorts are now monetized through ad revenue sharing inside the main YouTube Partner Program (YPP) where eligible creators earn a share (about 45 %) of ad revenue from ads shown between Shorts in the feed.
