Nowadays it seems like the trend for gambling is to operate a prediction market platform I reckon it's a new loophole for regulations

I'm restraining myself from writing any code until I understand people's needs better.

It will be Go (or maybe Node.js) + sqlite for backend and a tiny bit of JS for frontend (might need a charting library but that's about it). It needs to be easy to host and easy to extend by any developer.

Everyone is getting into prediction markets recently. I love using them. But the profit margins are lower.

Yes I have a job. I had to integrate a product with a popular affiliate marketing platform recently which is exactly how I ended up on this path.

Hi. I have been 90% TypeScript on Node.js, browser, and React Native for the past 5 or so years.

I sometimes need multithreading or want to ship a statically-linked executable which TypeScript/JavaScript cannot do BUT I also need to code really fast. So I want to branch out.

Keen for suggestions if you have any.

I've used one in-person at a horse race track. You use a tablet kiosk and it prints out a ticket, just like McDonalds.

There are also TAB betting shops all over Australia (see pic). They are dying out fast. Betting apps on mobile are just too good.

You can use Bun runtime for that need with use of worker threads and single-file executables probably, if I understand your requirements correctly. Bun is stable for some time now and I use it in production so I recommend it fully It even comes with standard implementation of sqlite

Wow I have to consider Bun, thanks. Looks like their static exes are good. Gotta figure out how good Bun's multithreading is - Node.js technically has that as well but it's not great.

Once I met a guy from AU and we talked about everything, he told me, that in big cities there are no spiders and snakes, also, kangoroo are not interesting in fight with you if he see that you are afraid, so you need to lie down and he will understand, that he is stronger. Sharks – some of them have chips and get alaram when they are near the beach, bot what you really need to be afraid in AU – crocs. You can not see them

I am from Ukraine, but live in Poland. I heard that kangaroos can carry you to work in their bag.
