A client of mine isn't treating me well...
Thanks to my work, his website is highly ranked with over 500 keywords.
I'd now like to quickly remove all references to the site from Google, causing it to lose rankings and keyword rankings, and making life as difficult as possible for the new supplier.
What's the fastest and most effective way to do this?

We don't discuss negative SEO here. If the client is not paying you well, you can dispute it. If you're not comfortable working with him, move on with your career. negative backlink wont get you any result, you will just waste money and time. google ignores bad backlinks, just because people tend to abuse it

And indeed, I see the site starting to lose rankings; the only thing I did before handing over to the other provider was remove all the internal link architecture I had created, meta tags, and schema for each page (this wasn't an act of dishonest conduct on my part, as this wasn't part of the contract). The front-end of the site hasn't changed at all. The new provider didn't bother to restore or intervene in this regard; the only thing they did was purchase a backlink package that produced an "artificial" increase in DR. Since I see that for many keywords for which the site was ranked first under my management, I believe the site is starting to be penalized by Google after this massive fraudulent link building effort.

Worst thing you can do is harm a former client's rankings. Why would anyone ever hire you again knowing you would do that?

Better to create a similar site and outrank him.

there is no quick way. In various case studies of link building it was found that google values (or say gives 1 credit point) to a backlink that then stays for over 1 year even after you remove any reference or turn do-follow to no-follow or completly remove link. So any page ranking for that particular anchor text will rank for at least 1 year and then it will fade away.
