curious if buying subreddits actually works or if reddit picks up on it and just bans the user. been looking at buying a motivational/productivity focused subreddit but don't want to risk it if it's just gonna result in a ban. would love to know if anyone's had experience buying subreddits.

With Reddit, there is always a risk.

When you buy a sub, it's better to also buy the sub creator account (+ cookies and, if it's possible, with a proxy of the original creator account's location - at least, the country). In this way, you will minimize the potential risks.

depends on where you buy this some legit person or cheap when i buy this from a legit which helps me to setup things without any problem and all things works great.
okay when you were looking to buy did you just post in the WTB thread?

If you can find a good service, they can help you achieve your goals faster. However, Reddit is a platform with very strict moderation, so growing too quickly is not easy and often leads to account restrictions.

There's always danger since it's against their TOS but there are things you can do to reduce the chances.

managing reddit account live to suspend very fast if not allowed in login locations, some locations are excepted to use reddit which causes suspend on many profiles.

is it tho? r/adoptasub exists

From what I’ve watched, Reddit doesn’t care about the sale itself, they care about how suddenly the vibe changes.

Reddit monitors ownership changes closely buying a subreddit can easily get the account banned. Growth is usually safer through organic engagement or creating a new niche subreddit.

Instead of buying gradually contributing valuable content and fostering engagement can grow your influence and authority within a subreddit much more effectively.
