That's true. I think other sections can definitely increase traffic and attract more people, bringing traffic to my website, so I've been testing them, but the results aren't very noticeable.

It's mostly to broad the search and get more information. So yes, it's reaching more people, but results may vary. Every ad platform nowadays has something similar, but without tests it's hard to say whenever it's worth it, every campaign/ad group/ad is different. As for the topic - people are right, you can disable sources that doesn't convert. You go from broadest audience to smallest, keep just whatever brings more conversions (not only sources, but creatives, audiences etc.)

Hearing your experience has strengthened my resolve to shut down the other sections. I've also tested a lot, and I've always felt that the other sections seem to be wasting advertising budget. However, I haven't shut them down in order to bring more traffic to the website.

You should choose Facebook and Instagram to easily control advertising costs and manage orders. I'm also applying this method and am very satisfied.
