Why does everyone keep recommending a VPS?

I think that management services can be different from company to company. You might have bad luck when signing up for the management services with the company that provides management services that won't work for you.
I think you can always ask a company about their management service and what they include in it.

True, I didn't even know I should ask that question b/c I already asked him (this was years ago) if it was managed & he told me yes.

But even the memory was too low for me.

I don't get a lot of traffic unfortunately, but some of my sites use a lot of memory & I never know why. Maybe the plugins, maybe not.

I use tier for my cpanel hosting. And its reasable priced for a good quality cpanel server with support. I don't get hundreds of cpanel emails, are you sure you aren't talking about the periodic ssl certificate reautheorisations? You shouldn't get any more regualr emails than that really.

No, it wasn't one email. I was flooded with CPanel emails when I first started with them. The website coder didn't know what was up b/c he's only ever used reseller, never VPS.

Then the hoster said i should turn them all off & I'm like, ok, but what happens if one of those emails is important???

Those are the emails the hoster is supposed to read (I guess) when you are on shared/reseller. On VPS, you are expected to take care of all of that.

But I also had huge memory issues. The memory wasn't high enough for my sites.

Yeah, i hated hiring a vps from DO for that reason, i don't know what the hells going on on, and I don't have time to be a linux pro, lol Especially not when the easy clicking interface cpansl has all you need, and if you really want to program things in you can do that too via the WHM api anyway.

I think now VPS is gradually being replaced by other platforms and there are almost 3rd party platforms and they can rent proxies and manage more things and multitask more than VPS

I found them in my sheet. They are a terrible company.

I signed up with them & paid back in 2018 after vetting them with questions, we finalized a price, etc.

That was even after they missed one of my emails & left me wondering if they were any good.

I go to ask questions about something before I even had a chance to completely move over & they tell me they are canceling my account. Said that I would abuse them & they didn't want to take a chance. I'm like WTF???

Then he runs away like a little child without any explanation, discussion like a mature adult or professional company.

I will never stop telling my story about them. I've never in all of my years had this happen to me & the time I wasted with them was terrible.

They are flaky, clearly full of fear about who knows what in their pea low IQ brains. I did NOTHING to them to warrant how they treated me.
