Hey everyone,
I recently launched a new website and I’m planning to use Reddit as one of my main traffic sources. I know Reddit can be tough when it comes to promotion, so I’m looking for advice from people who’ve done it successfully.

  • How should I build a genuine presence before sharing my site?
  • What types of posts work best for generating interest without looking spammy?
  • Should I focus on specific subreddits or go broader first?

Any insights, tools, or examples would really help. I’m not looking to spam just want to understand the right approach to grow organically and add value to the communities I post in.

Thanks in advance!

-a good sub selection and excellent content is your best tool.

Build your account authority first. Post relevant posts. Join relevant subreddits.

The moment you mention your website in any post, redditors will treat it as spam. You have to include it in a way that it does not look like promotion.

if your website genuinely has something beneficial to provide to the subreddit and it doesn't seem like an ad then you shouldn't have an issue. just don't spam and try not to drop links all the time.

Start by genuinely engaging in niche subs related to your site add value first, then share insights that naturally lead people to check your content

Contribute genuinely for a few weeks, share helpful content, avoid self promo at first, and use tools like later for scheduling or reddit Insight to track engagement.

Appreciate it, mate! I tried to make the content as solid and useful as possible.

To be honest, you need to take some time to integrate into the various specific subreddits first. The purpose of advertising for your website should not be too strong; otherwise, it may lead to your account being banned
That’s a fair point, I appreciate the advice! I’ll definitely take some time to engage naturally in those subreddits before posting anything promotional.

Yeah, that’s the right approach. I’ll start participating in niche subs and build trust before even thinking about sharing my content. Appreciate the guidance!

Good tip! I’ll start by posting helpful stuff and keeping it organic. Gonna try those tools too sounds like they’ll make tracking and scheduling way easier.

Exactly, building trust first is key. Engage genuinely in discussions, provide value, and once you’re established, share your site naturally in context.

Id start by following niche subreddits closely, commenting thoughtfully, and occasionally linking to your content when it directly solves a problem consistency beats quick promotion

Totally agree. Authentic engagement builds authority, then sharing the site feels organic, not forced. That’s the long-term play for sure.

Yeah, makes perfect sense. I’ll start by joining discussions and building some trust before sharing anything. Appreciate the advice!

Take some time to engage genuinely in different subreddits first. Avoid pushing your site too much, or your account might get flagged or restricted.
Yeah, that’s true. I’ll focus on joining discussions and adding value before sharing anything related to my site. Appreciate the warning!

Don’t automate anything early, just be human and consistent, that’s how you survive Reddit.
